Used for past 9 months: reliable & fast
Review after 9 months of daily use:I like the very small size of the USB drive, it stays plugged into the side of my laptop even when I need to travel (it doesn't stick out like most other USB flash drives). Capacity is a generous 512GB & access speed is good: I can run videos from the drive without hiccups.

It's definitely fast enough -- the only question how long will it last?
This brand claims to be around 20 Mbytes/sec faster, on read, than Samsung for 512 Gb, at 200 Mbytes. I'm giving it a good test for all my transfers, etc., in the past few days. If I see anything important, I'll edit. Sometimes, I re-copy a full chip that I want to save, and I notice that doing so actually 'defragments' the files about 25 Gbytes for a full 512Gb transfer. So, I'll be using this device in organizing my saved work. That should be a good test.So far, it's worked well.....when transferring video and stuff it has matched all byte counts perfectly, and when you're using 1/2 Tbytes as file size, that's good. Speed wise, I really can't tell yet, but after awhile I'm sure I'll see for myself. I know one thing for sure.....it ain't slow. And I really like the portability. Just be careful not to lose it. It's so small. And, don't lose the clear cap if you're going to be carrying it around in your pocket.....that's a lesson I had to learn for myself.

So far so good
I wanted a physically small flash drive to plug in my home server and be safe from being bent or broken. Its sole use will be the storage for weekly backups of 22 years of family pictures. From my wife and I's first date to today. All combined is 450GB. It took a few hours for the first transfer but considering thats over 250K files its fine. I've used PNY drives for years and will continue to buy them.PSAPlease know that I in no way trust just a single flash drive for backups and neither should you. Multiple backups is best. Just using multiple flash drives and store them in different places (not all in your house) is inexpensive and better than nothing.

Great solid shorty item
Use these shorties for storing music to play in my truck. The short stick is great to prevent something from breaking it off when installed. Lots of memory for lots of music.

Poor copying speeds consistently with these drives
Updated comments regarding copying files:Two of these drives were purchased in 2023 one in June and the other August. Although the construction of these drives are better or same as some brands, the focus on this update is copying speeds. This drives boasts 200 MB/s copying max. After testing BOTH of these vs another brand that states copying speeds 400 MB/s These PNY drives has major issues in copying files. As stated, this isn't just one drive one computer. Started a copy 25GB of data on the PNY said 2 hours and 50 minues. On the other brand that boasts 400 MB/s it ran about 90 MB/s and did it in approximately 5 minutes. The PNY drive seems to consistently have HORRIBLE copying speeds. If size of drive has any effect the PNY drives are 512GB and the other drive that boasts 400 MB/s is 256GB. After using the other brand I would not purchase another of these PNY drives on speed alone.Renaming a folder freezes the drive and can be non-responsive for a minute before the change takes effect. Explorer has to be killed sometimes to try again. Copying files can result in start stop periods. This PNY drive at max is 19 MB/s and only copies a few seconds before dropping to ZERO for long periods of time! It will then resume copying at lower speeds often times 145 kb/s! So this is really frustrating. I may reach out to PNY support to see what they have to offer which will not only speak to the reliability of their product but if they stand behind it. I've opted for a different brand now that offers much better and reliable copying speeds. Sorry PNY! I've used a lot of their products but this has proven to be disappointing.PNY brand has always been a reliable brand in my experience for data storage even in cases of older age drives that the casing may have cracked or deteriorated due to heavy usage. A smaller profile drive was needed for an application where a larger protruding drive could result in breaking the drive and this one stood above the rest. Another brand was tried and the housing of the drive was a very thin, flexible and cheap plastic that cracked and made it difficult to insert the drive. The construction of this drive is really solid. The drive can get a little warm when in use and more in heavier usage. it seems be a consistent complaint with this and other drives. The 512GB is perfect size to hold lots of data to carry around easily. Some drives have a very small hole for attaching a lanyard and typically limited to what can be put through the hole. This one has sufficient size to use with various types of key rings or lanyards. These smaller drives can be difficult to remove in tight spaces but this one has a decent sized and textured grip to easily remove. It's been in use for about 9 months and has proven to be reliable. Copy rates can vary. This also seems consistent with other drives. it can quickly but then drop down low rates and potentially pausing but have experienced this with multiple brands, capacities and computer to computer but hasn't been a terrible inconvenience. Overall highly recommend this for the reliability of the brand and quality of the design and materials.

It just works
UPDATE: subtract 1-star, as now the drive causes slowdown on my PC when plugged into my computer after a couple of hours. Not as terrible as the issues the SanDisk causes, but still very noticeable and not a good thing whatsoever...Unlike the Sandisk 512GB mini USB flash drive (AVOID AT ALL COSTS), this PNY drive works great and does not bog down my high-end PC with routine freezing & unresponsiveness. I'm not doing any speed tests -- for me it just works, and is fast and reliable. (Long-term reliability is of course wait-and-see.) I am just thrilled I can keep this plugged 24 hours a day and not have to worry about it freezing my computer, crashing File Explorer, and freezing my keyboard & mouse every few minutes.

This works fine
I bought another brand and shipped it back as non-functioning from the beginning. (I did the same when I ordered a previous one months earlier.) This works fine and I've used it daily for 3 months on various computers.
