This scale is so much more accurate than I expected. Wow!We bought this to replace a less than accurate Polder scale that I was completely frustrated with. That old scale was +/- 2 grams, which when you are baking can make a big difference. That old was was inaccurate, slow to register, and expensive.This new scale, wow. A) it's lightning fast, it registers the tiniest changes in weight immediately, B) it's cheap, but most importantly C) it's accurate.How accurate? Well, one member of our family happens to work in a lab and has access to reference weights. We tested this scale:- 1 g = dead on- 2 g = dead on- 10 g = dead on- 20 g = 20.1 g- 50 g = 50.1 g- 100 g = 100.1 g- 200 g = 200.2 gThat's unbelieveably accurate for a scale that costs less than $20. I would give this scale more than 5 stars if I could.

I received my kitchen scale a few days ago to replace a Salter that lasted for about 14 years. My old scale weighed from 1g up and it served me well. I tried a couple of other scales which didn’t weigh from 1g up, only 2g and the other 5g. I wanted at least one that could do what my old scale did. Well, to my surprise, the Etekcity scale does an even better job. As you can see in the pictures, it not only weighs from 1g precisely, it weighs also in 0.1 gram, but there is a catch. It measures in increments of 0.1g better if you have something on it that already weighs 1g. In one of the pictures, it reads 299.9 (299g plus 0.9g), and them in the next one, after I added some yeast, it reads 300.2 (300g plus 0.3g). I made a poolish for may artisan bread and needed just a pinch of yeast (I usually pu less than 1g), so this was perfect. I definitely recommend this scale.The reason I didn’t give 5 stars it is because, as you can see in the picture, Around the two buttons is not “sealed” complete, just like my trusted older scale. So if you drop flour, for example, some goes in the “cracks”, which you clean with a brush. However, from my experience, some always get stuck there. So I kwent around the problem by putting some cling film on that spot. You can still use the buttons normally, but wipe off any ingredients that might fall on it. I’d suggest that the manufacturer looked into this issue. Then, to me it’d be 5 stars.

Something is wrong with this scale because every time I use it and turn it off, the next time I go to use it the BRAND NEW BATTERIES are dead!!! This has happened three times now, which means it has eaten 6 AAA batteries! The first time it happened I thought it was the batteries (even though it was the ones that came with the scale), so I replaced them with new ones.. but then it happened again! So after that I started taking the batteries out after each use, but that got old quick and I stupidly hoped that maybe it would be ok to leave them in once.... and nope! Dead again.I don’t know if that scale is turning on somehow (not sure how that’s possible since I keep it stored in a way that the buttons are protected) or if it’s just a weird issue that causes it to drain the batteries even when it’s off, but whatever the case it freaking sucks! Not sure if others have had this issue or if I’m just the lucky one, but either way you’ve been warned— buy at your own risk!

This scale was very easy to use. I like that it has a small bowl/tray that hold the item(s) being weighed. I also like that you can hit the tare/on button with your own empty bowl on the scale so you can weigh larger amounts. This worked great when I was doing my canning. I was able to weigh the tomatoes and plums which made following the recipes so much easier. It is quite small and does not take up a lot of space in the cupboard when storing it.

If you’re looking for precise measurements this isn’t the scale right out the box I tested it with a 500g calibration weight which weighs out to 501.1g consistently and then I tried a 50g calibration weight as well which consistently weighs out to 50.1, which isn’t far off of course but it’s not exact and you can’t even calibrate the scale either. (Unless someone can tell me otherwise) great easy scale to use, just wish you could calibrate it cause precise measurements is what I’m looking for.

I feed my dogs raw food and need to weigh it. I've also got a parrot that needs to be weighed now and then for health reasons. I had one for quite a long time and it started eating batteries, wouldn't shut off automatically, the typical stuff. I bought this one to replace it but was a bit concerned because of price difference. This one was much cheaper, and boy, was I pleasantly surprised! Nice scale, measures accurately, easy to tare, but the best feature of all, although it will shut off automatically, is the fact you can shut it off manually. LOVE it!!!! I highly recommend this.

There's no option or setting to calibrate the scale so it's not consistent. I can weigh the same item 10 times, and every time it will be different. I love everything else about this scale except for the calibration issue. If you need a scale that's dead on to the tenth every time, look for something else.

I have am forced to give this a low 2 star rating because in their not-so-infinite wisdom the company decided to make the 0.1g model and the 1g model look pretty much identical.I ordered the 0.1g model and I got the 1g model, and I spent so long trying to figure out why it wouldn't give me more accurate readings. Turns out they packaged the wrong model, and the only reason I realized this is I read the small inscription on the back with a slightly different model number.

The media could not be loaded.  I’m a home baker and I need so accurate kitchen scale. I read the review and I thought it should be working for me but not! I returned it, you can see the reason in the video! The weight was charged automatically, so I cannot trust it!

This works great! I use it for portioning snacks, accurately measuring ingredients, and occasionally for weighing stuff before mailing etc. It is quick to start up and use and it's easy to switch units (lb/gram) and it can even calculate a volume of water. I tested it using a few unopened items from our kitchen and the reported weights were accurate and repeatable. Highly recommended.

The media could not be loaded.  Me gustó mucho que llegó súper rápido y en excelentes condiciones, es muy fácil de utilizar y de limpiar, trae su instructivo y ¡pilas! lo cual puedes verificar su correcto funcionamiento.No ocupa mucho espacio, estéticamente se ve bien, es un instrumento perfecto para medir las proporciones (indica va que hasta 5k), su bowl es de plástico y un poco profundo por lo que impide que se derrame o se caiga algo mientras estás pesando. Lo recomiendo como apoyo en tu cocina.

I love this lively red colour!My old scale which died a few days ago couldn’t show 0.1g. This one does!I don’t need to be that precise since I’m just an amateur baker, but it’s a good function to have.If you add a little thing one by one and the display doesn’t seem to change or being accurate, just press the scale dish gently. It’ll recalculate and display the right weight. This applies to all the scale out there though.
