No, this particular blade is made in Taiwan... most knife companies make there knives in Taiwan anymore. Doesn't mean the KABAR quality isn't there though!

no like most kbar knives it is a 3/4 tang

Yes, according to Ka-bar. They stated that all their fixed blades, machetes, swords, knives are full tang.

Q: How thick is the blade?

The blade is approx. 5/32ths of an inch from the grip to the tip. It is a wonderful tool for clearing branches,batoning and stakes. I carry a Kabar BK2, a Cutlass and a Mora. All points covered.
