Q: Can the lid be put on while the bowl is full, or does the bowl collapse if you try?

You do have to be very careful to put the lid on and prevent it collapsing. The trick is to NOT push down on the bowl. Take the plug out of the lid first, then hold the top edge of the bowl as you work the lid over the top edge, going all around gradually. Then put the plug back in.

Q: How strong is it, does the bowl collapse too easilly?

It's quite sturdy once you have it unfolded, I haven't had it collapse unless I'm deliberately trying to squish it back down. With that in mind this is a not a firm bowl just by virtue of the material, so you should hold it by both sides or have something under it when it's moving if it's filled with liquid.
