Simple, elegant way to display tapestries
I bought this hanger to display an indigo tenugui I picked up in Kobe. It's solid and simple and unadorned, as it should be. If you're not decorating your place with wall hangings like this, you should be!I wish they also sold a longer version as well -- a second tenugui I picked up was done in landscape format, so it's a bit too wide to fit into a hanger like this. I'm not sure if that's a common issue at all, but the (online) selection of these hangers seems quite small so I might have to finagle something myself.

Good purchase - looks great!
I got three of these for three tenugui, and overall I'm really happy with the purchase. I think it was a little expensive since the wood is natural and unfinished. But the pieces were fairly easy to assemble.

Authentic Japanese style
A friend of mine from Japan sent me a tapestry and this wood hanger was a great, authentic, way to hang it. We liked it so much we bought another one for a different tapestry. The directions are very easy to follow and it took less than five minutes to get my piece hung and looking good. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a simple, cost effective way to hang a tapestry or poster.

Not worth the money

They worked perfectly and look great.
I had my doubts that these would work with the Japanese wall hangings I had but they were perfect and look great. The description says they are for tapestries but a true tapestry would be too thick to work with these. That being said, the thin cotton wall hangings that are sold in Japan are called tapestries and they hangers are perfect.They were a little tricky to work with at first but once I figured it out, I loved the results. My wall hangings are just shy of 13.5" wide and I think these hangers would work with hangings that were up to 14.5" wide.

Not pleased
Very seldom do my purchases not work out. Unfortunately, this one didn’t do it for me. Every thickness was too thick to use with it.

Great tenugui hanger
I am puzzled by the mixed reviews. This is all you could really want from a tenugui hanger. It was easy to assemble and good quality. Looks great. It has both white and black strings, depending on what you prefer. I ordered a second one, which speaks to how much I like it!
