(A six month update) Great Shoes for leg and foot pain from aging
Most of the negative reviews were based upon the product wearing out to soon. Six months later the shoes seem to have no wear and tear. And they still work fine ankle and knee pain are still much better. The review below was written about one month after purchase. These shoes are miraculous. I have had pain in my left knee and right hip for some years from old football injuries. Also In the last few years I’ve had rather severe ankle pain from fallen arches. I’ve had high arches all my life but I’m now 73 and muscles weaken. This condition put stress on my ankles as the foot turns in as I step putting pressure on the ankle. I’ve tried $500 custom insoles, they help with the ankle but not the knee and hip. The custom insoles wear out in about a year.So much for my problems. My assessment, after wearing these shoes for about two weeks the ankle pain and knee and hip pain are significantly reduced. I think much of the reduction is from the soft impact of the heal of the shoe when stepping. Also the heal does rock a bit when I put the full weight on thus my ankles take a natural position at full weight. This takes a bit of getting used to when walking but once you’ve got the action it works OK. Bottom line I used to go up stairs one leg up then drag the other. I would need to switch legs depending on which hurt the most. Now I take stairs one leg up then the other no problem. Also due to ankle pain I used to require a secure hold on the hand rail as I was unstable. These shoes have not eliminated all the aches and pains of my 73 year old body, but they have greatly improved my mobility. I highly recommend this shoes for any one with issues such as I have. Most of the negative reviews were related to the shoe falling apart to soon. I’ve had the shoes about two months now and they look as good as new.

The most comfortable shoe I've ever worn
I bought these because I do a great deal of walking and was very impressed with the anti-shock soles. After a week of wearing them, I will never wear anything else. I feel like I am walking on clouds, and I am flat-footed! G-Defy is worth every penny to me, and I would recommend them to anyone looking for something ergonomic, containing arch support, and tailored to fit a wide variety of feet. I use the inserts and it took a week to break them in around the ankles. I have the laces loose enough to slip them on like sandals now, but they stay snug, and I am off and running in seconds. As I walk or run I can feel the air exchange around the toes, so on colder days I wear thick socks. I imagine that water puddle submersion would cause a quick issue since they breath so well, so look where you leap and enjoy ultimate comfort. I don't have bad knees, and probably never will if I keep these on my feet! G-Defy team I salute you!

Great shoes
Love the shoes, fit great, has helped immensely with foot ,ankle and back pain!! Only problem is the sides are a little high and rub on my ankle bones.

Comfortable
It's only my third day, but so far so good. My back and the SI joint aren't hurting as bad just after 3 days. I'll come back and let you know how long they wear and how good they are after a month. Paying $135 or so, I expect them to last at least 6 months. I'll let you know.I'm 300 lb and 6 ft 3 size 15, usually shoes only last me a month.

First impression review. updated
This is a first impressions only review. I will update later with a full review of wear and tear. Out of the box the design of the shoe is great sporty and not so much orthopedic looking. Nice colors good designs. The sole portion seems to be made well. Thats why it gets 2 stars. Pass that extremely dissappointed. The shoe upper is VERY let me stress VERY CHEAPLY MADE. It is all cheap and extremely THIN synthetic materials. I highly doubt this shoe will hold up at all. Smells plasticy(never hade a shoe smell like plastic)My biggest concern is that the eyelet holes will not hold up to tight tying. My wife had a "deluxe" halloween costum that came with some boots and the boots seem to be made of the same thin plasticy crap. Because of foot problems I have been wearing zcoils for over a year now. The heel snags on everything and they cost a lot. i was looking for something more sneaker looking, less orthopedic, and cheaper. The zcoil is ugly but ( my feet knees and back have never felt better) extremely well made full leather and a heavy duty spring. It also doesnt seem to absorb shock (only been walking around for about 30min) as well as the zcoil. Unless this is some super tough space age synthetics i have never heard about i dont see this shoe holding up at all. Wish gdfyer would've put more thought into the quality of the upper as they did the overall design of the shoe. This could've been a major win for folks with feet like mine but sadly it is not. I will continue to wear these and i may be wrong they may hold up great if so i will edit my review and ratings to reflect that if not it will only lose stars. if i coukd give zero stars i would they do not hold up less than two months and they were trash.

Interesting Shoe...
I bought this shoe because like many others who have posted reviews I stand on my feet at work all day. I suffer from metatarslagia or "ball of foot" pain and have been looking for shoes that will give me that "bouncy" feel while walking around on concrete for 10 hours. This first time I ordered this shoes despite carefully selecting the size they were too tight in the toe area and I felt a "stabbing" sensation across my toes. I returned them to only get a "credit" to my Amazon account instead of a direct refund...So I upped the size and ordered a different color. I took out the insoles and bought different insoles also from Amazon. I followed the directions by not keeping the shoes on all day for the first day. I felt no metatarsal pain, but I still feel that "stabbing" sensation across the top of my toes, despite the toe section being larger. As far a price to each his/her own, as I have invested a good amount of money on shoes recently (Brooks walking shoes for example) for the sake of being employed. The shoes have not "fallen apart" like so many reviews I have seen....at least not yet. I'm not sure I would recommend this shoe as I have not had it for a prolong period of time nor have I worn them for a full work day. I will try to update this review in a few months after use.
