Q: So if I wear a shoe size 8, I should order 8-12? Not shoe size 5-9?

They are sized like all other socks are. Adult is usually 8-12. The 5-9 are for teens or someone with small feet. Size 8 shoe, get the 8-12.

Not at all!! I love these socks! They are the best socks I ever owned! I hate socks. Especially if they are too thick. These are thin but well made with heal amd overall foot support! I love the breathable material & Im here to buy more even though I still have a few unused pair still! Great price as well! I have long feet. A soze 11 in woman’s. These fit me perfect unlike others. It’s like memory foam but they don’t go out of shape! lol

Q: Hikers: do these socks work as a liner under another sock to help create a friction barrier?

They fit and feel like nylon booties. I believe they could be worn inside another thicker sock but would not do any extensive/extreme workouts with just this sock alone. U haven't tried it but I can see where it would work just fine that way.

Thin, dry fast.

Thin, dry fast. Bought them to wear on longer trip. Easy to wash in sink and they dry quickly overnight. I don't think they will last, but they are cheap.

My 10.5 size feet are happy!!

I have a drawer full of socks with padding that take up too much room in my sneakers. The sneaker already has enough padding for my gym workout and classes and dog walking. This is the best sock - thin but still providing enough comfort. I wear a 10.5 sneaker and was about to go to 11 just to fit my other padded socks. Also got 12 pair of these socks for the price of 6 of the over padded socks. My feet are happy.
