Lutheran Prayer Companion Kindle Edition

This review is for the Kindle version. I also own the hardcover, which is spectacular, 5 out of 5. The problem with the Kindle version is that it’s very difficult to go to specific locations for different topics. For example, this morning I searched on “sickness,” and it came up with tons of options riddled throughout the book. I then went to the index to find the specific context I was looking for. It shows the page number from the hardcover book. However, that page number is past the Kindle version page number of the very index page I was on. So there was no way to use the “go to” feature to get to the prayer.The hardcover is quite densely packed, which is great, but very challenging to use efficiently in the Kindle version.

This is the BEST prayer book I own and I have quite a few. It contains a myriad of prayers by Martin Luther and others of the Early Church. This is what makes it so special, as back then people really knew how to pray biblical, thoughtful, contrite and humble prayers. You can sense that they enjoyed praying with great zeal and devotion and this fervor will transfer to any modern reader in my opinion.I appreciate and love this prayer book more every day, it is a treasure chest filled with different types of jewels. It contains every prayer one could possibly want and need, it is well organized into sections:- Prayer Preparation - Morning and Evening Benediction - Table Prayers - Prayers for Every Day of the Week - Times and Occasions - Vocation - Intercession - Repentance, Confession and Communion - Catechism - Weather - Cross and Tribulation - Praise and Thanksgiving - Sickness and Dying -There are also, on top of everything else, very beautiful and most poetic hymns, over a hundred, as an extra bonus!

Liked the great and diverse content. Would be even better in the old traditional church idiom language !

Lutheran prayers Great book excellent prayers always looking for a prayer book

This is an amazing resource. One way to learn to pray ourselves is to read the prayers of those who have gone before us. This book is jammed full of prayers for every situation which remind us of God's goodness and care.

Beautiful Lutheran prayer book with beautiful prayers. A must for these times.
