Perfect for relieving my patellar tendonitis symptoms
This knee wrap is for the rehabilitation of your knee should you be suffering with pain due to over-usage, injury or age. I do a lot of squatting and lunging movements due to competitive sports I play and I have had a lot of problems with my patellar over recent months. The knee wrap is quite unusual in its design. It has two longer straps, one of which goes over the top of the knee and the other which goes beneath it. Then there is a third strap in the middle that wraps just behind the knee. You can wrap this quite tight or leave it a bit looser - it's completely adjustable depending on your preference. Everything grips with velcro, but it seems a more premium velcro than you might be used to.This compression is OK, but the real purpose of this wrap is to offer you either cold or heat through a cold/heat pack that you slip into a pocket in the wrap that can be zipped up. This cold/heat pack seems of good quality and it really is very cold even at room temperature and gets much, much colder if you put it in the fridge or freezer. To warm it, it takes a while to heat in the microwave and you will want to take a bit of time working out how to make sure it's the right temperature to offer you relief, but not burn you. Once you work it out though, it's always the same length of time in the microwave.I've found alternating between cold and heat throughout the day has been great for me. Pain is relieved when I'm sat down and for quite some time after I take it off whilst walking around. I've also found some benefit to heating it and putting it on before stretching (which I am doing for a more long-term fix) as my joints feel warmed up and ready for movement. You can wear the strap either against bare skin or over a thin pair of trousers. Either way, it's a very comfortable material that doesn't cut or dig into your skin. I've also found it very breathable, so I won't need to worry about washing it too often as it doesn't cause me to sweat like a knee sleeve might. One thing I would say you should keep in mind before buying this is that this strap isn't for wearing during sport or when walking around or during a labour intensive job. It'll stay in place for a short walk to the kitchen, but it'll move around fairly quickly if you start doing housework and you will need to keep re-adjusting it. I've found it better to put on when working at a desk or watching television. This is usually when I experience pain anyway, so for me it has been really helpful.Overall, this is a great knee wrap at a very affordable price. The ability to use heat or cold depending on advice for your specific knee problem is really helpful for treating your specific pain.

Well made, though gel pad takes longer to heat than manufacturers instructions
I have arthritis, so often need knee support and therapy, so was really looking forward to receiving this for review. When I first received the product I was surprised at the weight of it, as it’s heavier than others I’ve used, and that’s because the size of the gel pack is quite large so it gives you good coverage around the knee joint co earring the cap and the joints and tendons at the sides, so actually that’s a big plus. It’s just not something I would walk around in too much because of the weight, whereas lighter ones I do.The knee wrap brace has a dual function. It can be used just as a knee brace for support and then you add the gel pack for therapeutic treatment. In a size 14/16 and wondered if the S/M knee brace may be too small, but it fitted really well and can I would say fit both small and medium knees/legs easily as it has plenty of adjustable velcro on the straps, which holds very well.To use the therapeutic element you need to warm the gel pack on the microwave first. According to the instructions you blast it for then seconds on both sides first then add more seconds of you need to. When I did this the gel was still practically cold with very little heat generated, and that was in a 900W microwave. The gel pack it says should not be put 8n the microwave more than four times on the trot and for no longer than 60 seconds in total. So I went up to the 60 second mark in shortish bursts but still found that after a total of 60 seconds that it was still only lukewarm, which I was a little bemused about. So in my microwave I needed to heat it for 90 seconds total in up to four bursts trining the gel pack in between in order to get to therapeutic temperature, which is outside of the manufacturers recommendation, but works for me. I have a great many gel based therapeutic heat bags and the one I used regularly for my back takes 90 seconds in the microwave to heat, so on that basis I feel it is fine for this gel pack, which is slightly bigger overall. When the gel pack is up to therapeutic temperature, then it slides not the zipped compartment in the knee brace, which is lined to e sure no moisture/condensation can leak out. It’s very well designed in that aspect and the gel bag Satan’s in place very firmly. You can also put the bag in the freezer for a couple of hour to provide cold therapy, and that SLO works well, and the lined locket for the gel bag comes into its own when using the gel pack frozen. One thing to note os that you can’t out the bag into the microwave from frozen, you need to let it cool to room temperature before heating it up.So overall this is a good therapeutic and supportive brace, which is well designed. My only niggle is that the gel pack doesn’t get warm enough within the manufacturer’s time specification, so it loses a star for that. Price point wise, it is on the more expensive side of these things, though is well made. If you’re using this type of support a lot then it’s worth the investment, but if it’s just a one off there are other cheaper versions on the market that may work just as well for you.

hot and cold knee wrap
So the description states this is a:-Natracure hot and cold knee wrap brace - size: small/medium.Firstly I wouldn't call this a base it's more of a strap. The backing material I don't think is thick enough or the type of material to protect the skin from the cold/hot pack. Because once i put it on cold. It felt way too cold, as if you was litterly judt putting the bare ice pack on ya skin. Also heating it in the microwave from it being room temperature, heat it in short sperts and still didn't actually feel really hot.Its like it gets supper cold but not hot...Sorry I wouldn't recommend this.

Not good as a heat wrap
This brace was for my husband who suffers with a bad knee and he felt that some warmth on it would be of benefit.Firstly, although it is called a brace it doesn't actually function as a support brace. It is really only for light use in the house as it would otherwise be pretty restrictive and heavy. This is because the 'brace' needs to be done up very strongly to prevent the gel pack inside from slipping. It is however comfortable to wear while sitting down and ok to walk out the kitchen etc. despite the heaviness of it.If the pack was to be used as a cold pack then I think it would have been fine but for the function we wanted to use it for- as a heat pack - this did not work. The gel pack did not heat up in the microwave in accordance with the instructions. Only the outside edges got hot, the rest of the pack remained cool to touch. We reheated several times to no avail. A shame as if the gel pack could be heated then I think it could have been useful. We even thought our microwave was broken but heating other things in it has proved otherwise. It was very strange.
