We be jammin' everyday!
My husband and I live on an island so naturally we love to jam out to island style music and reggae jams often. We love live local music, especially when there's a steel drum involved! Right now, we're unable to enjoy live local music here in Hawaii because of Covid..but now we can enjoy the authentic sounds of the steel drums right in our living room! I thought Jumbie Jams would be a great bday gift for my husband who can let the musician inside come out and play along to some of our favorite jams. He's been playing it everyday since it arrived! It's super easy to learn and fun!

Not bad, but not great.
The sound quality isn’t bad, but the two highest pitch notes don’t come through hardly at all. They’re very quiet and flat. For kids, this is a great way to have some fun! However, it is definitely not something to buy if you’re looking into actually playing the steel drum.

All notes are sharp.
I LOVE my chrome Jumbie Jam! However, all the notes are very sharp. I remedied this by adding small magnets to the outer edge, bottom of the divets. It is a perfect A440 now and even rings more clearly! I bought a second one, used. I'm going to re-tune it up 1/2 step so that I can play two together, somewhat chromatically. Michael

Great Product
My family got the Caribbean feeling while home this summer. It is sturdy produces great sound. The songs that come with it are easy to learn and make the experience a lot of fun for the kids and adults.

sound tone great
sound and resonates on tone is very good. I want to start playing the pan, and this was a good started to learn on. Only 8 notes 11 would be better but very good steel drum for starters.

It’s okay
It’s ok….the stand is flimsy and one of the plastic joints broke so it’s sits low (not a big deal for us, we have since given it to our granddaughter). The drum part is pretty lightweight and the sound quality isn’t great. For the price point I was excepting something a little more substantial. It was a birthday gift for my husband, but has been given to our 3 year old granddaughter. I would have returned it, but I bought it over a month before his birthday, so it was past the return date. That was my error.
