GREAT PRODUCT! WELL WORTH THE INVESTMENT!
After using these continuously for the last 5 weeks I am very happy with this purchase. I spent a lot of time researching and comparing baby monitors (video and otherwise) and this product, by far, fit my needs the best. The BATTERY LIFE of the handset is impressive compared to my last baby monitor and easily lasts all day after being on the charger off and on during the night. I'm sure this would also depend on your personal settings such as volume, vibration (cry alert) etc. Personally, I have the sensitivity on 2 bars, the volume at 2 and the cry alert ON.The SENSITIVITY is amazing!!! So amazing, actually, that I had to turn it down because I was hearing every tiny movement; even with the base about 5 ft away from her. I can hear her breath if I am inclined to; which was amazing the first few nights home when I was a nervous wreck. I eventually was convinced by my husband that I had to turn it down because I would stay awake listening, finally fall asleep, and she would move just enough where it would wake me up so I wasn't sleeping. Just goes to show that this product works VERY WELL.The RANGE is perfect. Her nursery is literally at the opposite corner of the house from where the master bedroom is and I still get full reception and it's crystal clear. I can even take it out in the back yard with me and have absolutely no problems at all.The FEATURES are exactly what I was looking for. I love that it has the "cry alert" setting so that the handset will vibrate when it senses her crying (it's not perfect and will sometimes alert me when she's moving, but nothing is perfect). The "walkie-talkie" feature is awesome. I love that if i'm in bed and have the handset and my husband goes to check on her etc, that we can communicate if need be (we actually use this feature more than we expected to). MY FAVORITE feature is the temperature and temperature alert. Unfortunately, her nursery is the coldest room in the house and this was a major concern for us; especially during winter. Though it is summer now , the thermometer has been a HUGE help keeping her room temperature regulated. With the temperature alert settings, I love that I can set a temperature range and the handset will alert me if the temperature deviates from that range. The DURABILITY of this product so far has been great. My 6 1/2 year old has actually dropped the handset on accident more than once on our hardwood floor, in his rush tell me that his sister was awake lol, and it still works perfectly and has no visible damage whatsoever. I know it's only been 5 weeks but, this is not a cheaply made product by any means. The only CON I can honestly give about this product is the weight of the handset itself. When carrying it, it's nothing really..but if you need your hands free and try to pocket it, the weight will pull down your pajama pants lol and the bulkiness makes it difficult to fit in some pockets as it is. Yes, it does have the lanyard but, personally, I find it uncomfortable.A RECOMMENDATION TO THE MANUFACTURER: a belt clip would be perfect for this product, especially for those of us moms who are constantly on the move (chasing after kids, cleaning from room to room etc). The lanyard was a nice thought in theory but not very effective; the last thing I need is for it to get dunked in the sink, toilet, etc while I'm moving about and cleaning. I end up setting it down on the counter and then losing track of where I left it along the way.Overall, I am extremely pleased with this purchase. It fits my needs perfectly and so far has been well worth the investment and by far better than my previous baby monitors. If you are looking for a sturdy baby monitor that will stand the test of time and offer some pretty great features for your newborn, toddler etc I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.

Simply great!!!
For us money was no object in terms or selecting the best baby monitor. We looked at all of them with audio, video, iphone integrated etc. After carefully considering if we actually need the video feature we decided against it. If our baby is waking up and babbling, making some sounds, crying etc. are we really going to spend another 30 minutes lounging in bed? No. So what's the point of having a picture? We decided that for us top quality audio was the main priority.Things we wanted to avoid were:1. Poor sound quality with static2. Monitor shutting off unexpectedly.3. Monitor losing signal because of the distance and / or obstacles.4. Complicated / unintuitive menus that require shuffling through manuals. This monitor completely met our expectations! We've been using it for 2 months and have been so happy that I feel compelled to write a review.First of all, I was very pleased that the monitor never ever loses signal and is out of range. Our house is rather large by local standards (3,500 sq ft). A duplex with multiple walls, a staircase and a garden. Even when the monitor is as far away from the parent unit as it possibly could be, the signal is not lost. Sometimes our daughter takes naps outside in the garden and I leave the monitor next to her. Even then the signal is not lost. The battery life is decent. I can't complain. During the night the baby unit is always plugged in. I only have it running on batteries during daytime naps. Say, 4-5 hours of naps every day. With this kind of frequency I only have to replace batteries about every week. The parent unit has rechargeable batteries and they are charged every night so that's not a problem at all.The sound quality is crystal clear. Sometimes I can even hear my baby breathing. Amazing! I never ever missed a single babble of my baby! That said, the microphone is not overly sensitive. At night the microphone is reacting only to the loudest noises, such as babbling or a fire truck siren. Microphone picks up sounds well even when the monitor is positioned in the opposite corner of the nursery. Our baby is too young (6 months) to react to the Talk feature of the monitor but I'm happy that it exists and that it works well. We (the parents) used it a couple of times to communicate if we were located on different floors.I find the design to be very appealing. Smooth lines, high quality plastic. This monitor feels like it costs at least $100-150. It doesn't feel cheap.Temperature sensor is not a very necessary feature but it's good to have it. It works well.Menus are also very easy to navigate. I didn't need a manual at all to figure everything out.If I were to say one negative thing about it, it would be the following: I wish buttons on the parent unit would light up. When the baby woke up at night in the past, I got up and wanted to lower the volume (not to wake up my husband), I had to use my iphone to figure out where the volume control button is. It's very hard to find it in complete darkness. It is a minor detail though. So far very very happy!
