Not bad, but not complete
I bought this book mainly to add some variety to my workout and I'm happy with it.I had never heard of self resistance and was surprise with who well it works the muscles. What I likeIt had a of different exercises for each muscle, so you could pick and choose the ones you like best. The exercises cover muscles from the head toes. The are plenty of pictures and descriptions on how to do the exercises properly. The pictures should be numbered, it can hard to follow sequence on some of them. What I didn't like The book never covers how much tension to use or how fast should repetions be done. This informantion was important to me since I had never done this type of exercise before and at times felt like I was doing it wrong. The tittle of the book says it is a complete guide of self resistance, but it lack the most important element of any training guide and that's the training rutines. There's only one rutine at the end of the book, which isn't enough to cover every ones needs. What if you want to build size, get a smaller waist, build endurance, or get stronger, one rutine alone will not accomplish all of that.

I love this book. It has taught me how to work out just as hard without weights. You can uses these exercises with minimal or no weights. Using your own resistance makes you very tired and works you out very well. You never have to worry about injury.

WEAKLING NO MORE
This book was recommended to me by a real live licensed trainer. He is a friend of the family and we were talking at a backyard grill and beer party. He was showing us some ways to tone at the office. He was the one who told us about these techniques. I was skeptical. I thought no way this will work. Two weeks later I was admitting I was wrong. This works like magic. You have to be committed and follow the program but I am more toned now than i thought was possible without spending a lot of time in a gym. This writer knows his stuff and make it easy to follow and stay with it. He is like haveing a trainer in my kindle. I will not be in a body building competition but my wife remarked how different I looked and how much stamina I had. It is an easy read and and David will explain it as you go. If your busy and have no time for a gym or just do not like that whole weight room thing this is for you. David is a real guru of this field of fitness. You should also look at his other fitness books.

Clear concise and very effective program.
Weights' is that book, for me. It's a It's a book of Charles Atlas like exercises, which right away had my respect. The isotonic exercises uses your own body resistance and muscle strength so I can't hurt myself by pulling and tearing a muscle. That's not to say these exercises are for wimps though. I was so sore after 4 days of doing the exercises that I knew I had done a workout. The best part for me is that many of these can be done right in my office chair and need no other equipment than me. The core principle of the workout is the importance of proper breathing and mind focus.I liked the clear instructions and photo illustrations. I am a visual person so that helped a lot too!

THIS IS JUST A FRAUD! THE BOOK IS A ...
THIS IS JUST A FRAUD! THE BOOK IS A RE EDITION OF A PREVIOUS ONE PUBLISHED IN 2010 CALLED "POWER ISOTONICS"! THE CONTENT IS EXACTLY THE SAME EXCEPT FOR A DIFFERENT INTRODUCTION AND A DIFFERENT ORDER OF TABLE OF CONTENTS EXERCISES ARE JUSTTHE SAME. THERE IS NOT EVEN A NEW ONE IN THE WHOLE BOOK. .THE MODELS PRESENTED ON THIS COVER DO NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE BOOK ITSELF, AS ALL THE BLACK AND WHITE PHOTOGRAPHS ARE TAKEN FROM THE 2010 OLD EDITION WITH THE SAME MODELS PRESENTING THE SAME EXERCISES!

Nice! A great beginning for calisthenics.
Most vids on YouTube and elsewhere have a person that can do pull ups and pushups. This book however starts with breathing and increasing strength throughout the whole body and is enough in itself but is also a foundation from which a great many body trainings can begin, from gymnasts, and martial artist, to rock climber and team sportster. One of the best foundationals I've found yet.

Great alternative to the gym
If you are tired of being chained to a gym membership to stay in shape then David Nordmark offers you a great alternative. Based in solid science and proven experience the isotonic method really works. This book provides practical guidelines on how to safely and effectively keep your body strong and healthy. I appreciated the illustrations also that help you see exactly how to perform each exercise. I have personally used many isotonic exercises for years and I look and feel better than many guys who are much younger. Do yourself a favor and not only buy this book but use it!

Working great for me !!!
I've been using weights most of my life. Now suffering from joint pains and a torn shoulder blade, which has given me a permanent lump on my back, I decided to try this method of using dynamic tension, and ordered this book. The exercises are easy to follow ( though some explanations are in reverse to the pics of some exercises) I have always struggled to build any size in my chest, but only after a week of following the chest exercises in this book, I and other people have noticed a definite improvement. I also feel stronger and feel no joint pain during these exercises. I've now given away my weights. I recommend this book. I can exercise anywhere, even in short burst, it's definitely effective. I would suggest buying also: The Isometric revolution, by Peterstone, and Beyond self resistance by Marlon Birch , to add enter some variety of the same techniques as well as some different techniques to your program. I've found all three books to be a great motivation and help.

Great Exercise Book for Me
Living remotely, this is a great book for me. The pictures help to ensure that I do the exercises right and there are a number of excellent tips. I also really wanted to focus my exercise regime to a number of key areas of my body and this book had exactly what I was looking for, so I'm really glad I got it.I particularly like that I don't need any equipment to complete my exercise regiment as making makeshift weights is not something I'm very good at.Now I just hope that I can look like the women in the book and that will definitely make me smile.

Review of Build Muscle Without Weights
I have over time downloaded a number of books on muscle building and this book is one of the most complete books on self-resistance isotonic exercise. The book includes a wide range of tips to improve your workout and each exercise includes clear photographs showing exactly how each exercise needs to be completed. If you are looking to target specific muscle areas, this book breaks down each section of the body and gives you a number of different exercises to complete in order to achieve your aims. While I might not use all the information included, I am hoping that this books will help me to tone and build my target areas quickly.
