After my basement apartment flooded 3 times due to a flat drain cover getting clogged by leaves and other debris (and my landlord refusing to do anything about it), I figured I'd buy this drain cover to see if I could fix the problem myself. IT WORKED. My apartment hasn't flooded again since purchasing even through heavy rainstorms. Thank you :)

I used it as a drain in a stone pathway.

This 6" domed-top atrium grate is stronger than the green flat top atrium grates that I've purchased twice in the past on Amazon. While I do have to cut the bottom lip down to about an inch so it will fit my driveway drain, I believe that if a car tire hits the dome, it will push it out of the way rather than destroy it like the flat top grates (that's why I need a new one, well, that and the snow blower also ate it a little too). I was real happy that this dome grate appears to be stronger (thicker material) than the slightly less expensive flat top atrium grate.GO FOR IT!

Was overjoyed to find this dome-shaped drain cover. It saves us hundreds of dollars every time it rains.We have a patio in back with a serious surface drainage problem. We had a flat drain cover that would get covered with leaves and other debris and block the rainwater from draining off of the patio, and the water would then spill into our basement window wells and flood our basement. Not good -- in fact, horrible.Pondering what to do, I noticed that the municipal storm drains in my area are covered with large, iron domes that permit the debris to collect at the bottom and sides of the dome, but that still allow the water to find a way into the drain at the top. It made me wonder if there was such an item for home use.None of the local home improvement box stores had a domed "atrium grate." So I went online to look and found it on Amazon. Bought it, installed it, and now I don't have to worry as much when we get one of these global warming-caused torrential downpours in late May and early June.My wife was concerned that it would look ugly on the patio and would cause her, the kids, and guests to trip and fall. I suppose it does have those shortcomings. But we were desperate for a solution, and all I have to do is show it working to her when we get a good, stiff downpour, and that makes it all better.A potential product improvement would be to make it out of clear, crush-proof vinyl, so that if you did step on it, it wouldn't trip you, and it would spring back into its "atrium" shape.

My roof had a drain cover installed the wrong way, leaving a concave drain hole where stuff could collect and jam up. This fit right in the hole on top and worked perfectly to keep the drain from clogging up.

I liked the sturdiness if the product.Only 1 inch of the base is 6 inches wide, the rest is 7 to 8 inches.

This is a durable grate that I used to replace a flat grate. The flat grate would always get blocked by leaves on my back porch and, on one occasion, flooded my kitchen. The atrium grate effectively allows water to flow in, even when there are a lot of leaves around. This small investment will certainly pay dividends. Highly recommended--
