An unfinished produdct
I have some issues with AAXA because, while they offer a unique product, they skimp a bit on the final details. The hardware is decent, and there's plenty of features to like, but there are some issues that they don't tell you about that I think, for many people, would turn them away from buying this.• The projector's software is atrocious. It looks like they took the same software that the P500 had and used craft paper and glue to adjust it for the P700, and some things just... don't work, for no apparent reason. Basic image adjustment settings will be grayed out for no apparent reason, but you can trick the software into letting you access them if you start adjusting one and then select the one you want afterward. It makes no sense, and it looks like an accident that they didn't catch or never bothered to address.• The aspect ratios also sometimes don't work right, depending on what you're sending to the projector. 1080p video, I believe, displays correctly, but if you plug in 720p video, it will be slightly stretched, and if you plug it into your PC, you won't be able to take advantage of the projector's full 1280x800 resolution in its proper aspect ratio. Things in this resolution look best because you have a 1:1 pixel to image ratio. It worked fine on the very similar P500 but, for some reason, it doesn't here. The aspect ratio options also don't work right and don't always do what they describe.• Updating the software, by the way, didn't fix some of these problems and added in new ones, making it feel even more broken than before. In the months since I've tried, they haven't released any new updates and my talk with customer service doesn't tells me that they had already moved onto focusing on other products rather than fix their mistakes.• There's a noticeable unevenness to the projector's focus. Horizontally it seems perfect, but vertically, if you focus something in while looking at the top of the screen and then look at the bottom, it will be blurrier.• The projector will come out of focus over time. You can notice a difference within 20 minutes of usage. I'm not sure how bad it gets but I know that when I use it for games, I have to readjust it constantly.• The P700 boasts some sort of overclock of sorts that lets you boost the light output a bit, at the expense of the life of your LEDs. I've tried this feature out a few times and all it seems to do is make your picture... yellow. I'm not sure how anyone could mistake this for increased brightness. It doesn't appear brighter in the slightest and just distorts the image color.• The fan is a little loud. Compared to the P700, this one is a bit annoying. It will get louder and quieter depending on how hot it is, but if you're running the projector at full brightness, it will go at full speed most of the time. I'm not even sure that the fan itself is what's causing the noise, but maybe bad insulation between the fan and other components, causing an annoying rattle, or perhaps a wire is barely touching it. If you're sitting right next to it, you'll need to crank the speakers to overcome the noise.• Speaking of speakers, the projector does include an internal one and, for something not requiring sound quality, it's fine and adequate for a small room, but could have probably been left out. There are numerous cheap speakers out there that sound much better and I feel the inclusion of one may have just added to the size and complexity of the projector. Luckily there's an audio-out jack for you to do just that. While the above problems are a little damning, there are things to like about it. You do get a LED projector that has an apparent long bulb life. For the many hours I've put on this thing, I haven't seen any signs of dimness. Despite the focus issues, the resolution and clearness of picture is generally pretty great, with nice bright colors. Battery life is decent and you could get through a presentation with this completely unplugged. There are also various connector options to choose from, which, for its small size, is nice. The unit is delicate but light and easy to move, so you can easily point it in any direction on a tripod without worry that it will tip over. It's also decently bright. Complete darkness will get you the best picture, but some ambient light is acceptable when it's plugged in.Overall I think this product was rushed. If you go to AAXA's website, you'll notice that they pump out new projectors pretty often; some, like this one, are small alterations to existing products. The P500 felt like a fairly complete product that did all that it advertised pretty well. I had one, and when I bought this one, I assumed I'd be getting that, just a bit brighter. Instead I got a handicapped version of the P500 that has a brighter picture. I think that AAXA produces so many new models that they don't give themselves time to neaten up loose ends and the P700 was a victim of this rushed, messy process. It makes it difficult for me to recommend this projector, or any projector, from this company simply because the quality is totally hit and miss. I'd rather have a product with less features that all work well than one with a ton of features that barely work. I've made my peace with these issues but I would not suggest anyone buy this. It's a real shame because there's signs that they can make really great, affordable and long-lasting projectors but they simply choose to mess it up.

An okay projector for the price, but construction quality and design seem a little under par
The AAXA P700 is very bright for a very small projector. It's about 3x as large as a pico projector but at 650 lumens, it's significantly brighter. I purchased this to use for business presentations in small rooms or for off-site training in medium sized rooms. The brightness was surprisingly good, allowing me to view a Powerpoint in a medium sized room with afternoon sunlight and the curtains drawn. The room was still quite bright but I could see the image just fine. (I was projecting this on a blank wall about 8' from where the projector sat.)The construction of the unit feels solid enough, but the buttons seem very cheap when pushed. The image from the HDMI out was stretched vertically somewhat and I could not determine through the controls or manual how to adjust it. The AAXA folks do include a support number for questions, however I did not call. I found two items particularly lacking which is why I returned my unit. First, the image was somewhat pixelated, regardless of the settings I chose. The second is the fan noise. Although not horribly loud, this unit is definitely not quiet. And on the brighter settings the fan ramps up to an annoyingly loud level. The fan noise might not be a problem if you had the projector sitting a short distance away from where you were seated, however, using in small spaces, or at a business meeting, it would definitely be noticeable.I did not have any trouble focusing as other reviewers have mentioned. The focus wheel does have very stiff resistance, which makes it challenging, but it worked fine for me. The small tripod that comes with it is inexpensive, but did the job just fine. I didn't worry that the projector was going to fall over and the tripod actually helps in getting the image nice on the wall, although keystone adjustments are available. The software is ok, if not a bit clunky, but it does work.A few other features that I didn't find particularly helpful:- It has three bright blue LED lights on the top, behind the buttons (see image). The lights themselves are not actual buttons so I'm not sure what the point of having them is? If it's a style intent, then, I'd prefer not to have bright stylistic features distracting from my table top presentation. In a darkened room, the LEDs are quite bright.- It has a 70 minute (manufacturers claim - I didn't test) battery included. This may be useful to some, although to me it's not quite long enough that I would feel comfortable using it in a business situation. I would want to have the power adaptor ready in the event I received a battery warning during the presentation. In which case, if I'm going to have the adapter ready, I may as well just plug it in. Also, if you are using this for a party or movie night, 70 minutes is not likely to get you through your movie. Others may find the battery a good supplement, however, to me it is only useful if it could last a minimum of 120 minutes, preferably 180.- The design doesn't feel polished. It's not that the plastic isn't sufficiently rigid, but it just 'feels' like plastic -- like cheap-kid-toy kind of plastic. In addition, when pushing on the buttons, the feedback and plastic click sound just seems low quality. This doesn't mean it won't work fine, but I felt it worth noting.- Also, in looking at where the lens rests within the cutout, I noticed that the lens was not centered. This didn't seem to impact the quality of the image as I didn't notice any shadowing or distortion, but, it just lends to the overall fell that this product is not quite what I would call professional grade. My overall impression is that this is a decent projector for the price ($450 range), however, I have found other options at a similar cost, that meet the need for a small-room business projector much better. One such projector is the Vivitek Qumi Q5 500 Lumen model. It's not as bright, but still bright enough and the construction quality is very, very good. Although, I will say that I think the Vivitek is most competitive only if you can get it near the $400-$450 price range.Summary: The AAXA P700 is a good enough small projector (one of the brightest you can get) for the price, but there are higher quality options available.

Exceeded expectations
Only had this projector shortly but I thought I'd write a quick review as there isn't much here on Amazon. So far I am ready happy with this product, it's incredibly bright for a small projector and easily displays a 60" screen in a relatively bright room and will stretch further if you want, in darkness there's no issues.Image quality is really crisp aswell at 720p it's enough to keep you engulfed in whatever you are watchingMy only concern for this is the fan volume (the speakers on this device have to be on full to drown it out, I don't know if the speaks more for the fan or the speakers!) and the heat which is given off after quite a short period of time... However I can accept the volume of the fan if it is managing the heat as it should, but this is something only time can tell.Overall though I'm pleased with this and for my first projector I can only recommended it.

I use this with a Mac. Although they are ...
I use this with a Mac. Although they are compatible, there are steps to be taken. ExampleThe following might help others working from iMac iMovie to video on P700.1. Format USB to FAT32.2. Create iMovie without sound. (I am not sure if these steps work with sound.)3. Dragged project to desktop.4. Download and open a DVD Ripper app. (I used App Store’s DVD Ripper & Video Converter Pro HD.)5. Choose [Common Video AVI].6. Press circuclar blue arrow to begin conversion from iMac’s iMovie to AVI for the AAXA P700 projector.7. Export converted AVI file to desktop.8. Drag converted AVI file onto the formatted USB.9. Eject USB from the iMac.10. Turn on AAXA P700.11. Insert USB.12. Select [Video].13. Click the AVI video on the USB.14. Click [OK] until options appear at the bottom of screen.15. Select [Repeat] to loop the video.

Excellent product with great image quality.
Great for coaching in dressing rooms where TVs may not be available. Remote control could be a bit nicer. Sound is good but not great.

Saludos
