Quality keeps going down on these chairs.
I bought a big and tall La-Z boy office chair 3 years ago at costco for $300 and it was a phenomenal chair! Great support, most comfortable chair I have ever sat in and after 3 years its barley just starting to wear. So I noticed Costco had La-Z boy chairs again and after I went to the store and sat in the $199 chair I immediately realized it was a super cheap chair. So I went online to try to find the better version to buy again. After searching I found that this chair appears to be the closest thing to what I bought 3 years ago. Assembly was the same as the last one, the holes on the arm rest really don't line up so you have to force it to line up and pray the bolts don't strip out. But the rest of very easy. Right away I noticed the bottom section is very very short compared to my last La-Z boy chair and this is supposed to be the "big and tall" version? False advertising unless the regular chairs are kid sized. The back section is slightly shorter but close. Overall its still a great office chair but the prices are clearly going up while quality of clearly declining. I might try another brand for my next chair.***** UPDATED REVIEW 10/28 *****After using this chair for a couple weeks I have a different opinion now. The shorter seat actually helps with my posture and makes it more comfortable to lean back and recline. And the qualify appeared to be worse based on loos alone but now I can tell its same La-Z Boy quality I am accustomed to. Definitely a great chair, very sturdy and very very very comfortable. I could fall sleep in this chair.

Opulent Executive Appliance that Provides Unprecedented Comfort
I'm a mess; total lumbar back fusion, right hip replacement, right shoulder replacement, etc.. I have been through 3 EXPENSIVE office/desk chairs, the most recent was purchased from a local furniture company at a cost in excess of $1,000.00. All have been extremely uncomfortable and painful. I purchased the La-Z-Boy Trafford Big & Tall Executive Chair from Amazon and have been impressed since its arrival. Assembly was incredibly easy with all parts (including the screws and caps) plainly marked to agree with the assembly instructions. The quality of the chair is incredible and clearly exceeds the quality of its $1,000+ predecessor. Comfortable??? I can hardly begin to describe the degree of comfort that I experience when sitting in this opulent executive appliance. I can truthfully testify that this is the most comfortable chair that I have experienced since my surgeries began in 2015, and the comfort level remains high regardless of the hours that I spend sitting in this chair. I recommend the La-Z-Boy Trafford Big & Tall Executive Chair to anyone, particularly those with a temporary or permanent disability due to a back or hip disorder.

Garbage La-Z-Boy Desk Chair - Heading to a landfill within 5 years
Like everything these days, "they don't make 'em like the used" to and this La-Z-Boy is no different. It will soon be heading to a landfill, after about 5 years of ownership. Frankly, this chair should have been tossed out a couple of years ago, when it started failing.I purchased this La-Z-Boy Trafford Big and Tall Executive Office Chair on 12/28/17 for $347.11 with tax & free shipping. Interestingly, as of today, 12/12/22, I see this chair is now $464.56. IMHO, this chair is not worth any price, if you are looking for a chair that will last and be comfortable. In any case, my La-Z-Boy will be sitting near the street, waiting for the garbage man (or anyone who wants it) to come pick it up, by January of 2023.I worked in an office up until 2020 so, this chair was not used daily, until COVID. Since then, I have used it daily and it has neither held up well, nor has it been comfortable. By late 2020 / early 2021, I noticed the BONDED LEATHER was starting to delaminate. Likewise, the memory foam was starting to wear out (bottom out) so, after sitting for an hour or so, it started to feel like you are sitting on plywood. The chair still looked reasonably good and was still relatively usable so, I figured I would stretch it out. Plus, I was upset about having to replace, yet another desk chair. When I bought this chair, I did not know it was bonded leather and I would not have bought it, had I known that. I say that because the desk chair I replaced before this one was replaced for the same reasons (failing bonded leather and worn out seat foam). Worth noting, I got 7 years out of my previous chair. In any case, I purchased this desk chair, believing is was "leather" and having "AIR Technology" and memory foam. Plus, I was also sold on this chair being "heavy duty" for Big & Tall people. I'm about 5'11" and 190 pounds so, I thought it would last longer for my size although, it certainly has not.My opinion is, while there are different qualities, all memory foam sucks and it will all fail from use. Old school "Marshall Springs" with memory foam are probably the only type of support system that will actually perform well and be comfortable. Likewise, from my experience, all bonded leather is total garbage.Bottom line, I hate buying junk and then having it wind up in a landfill in 5 years. Likewise, aside from having buyers remorse, I have been sitting on this worn out, uncomfortable chair for almost 2 years now.In fact, my back is sore and my keister is aching as I'm writing this review :(Frankly, I don't know what the perfect chair is but, personally, I want to buy something that will last at least 10 to 15 years (or longer) and I'm willing to pay for it. I'm leaning towards an X-Chair X4 and hoping that desk chair won't leave me with buyers remorse and a "sore arse" in 5 years. Who knows, maybe the X-Chair will let me down but, at least they have a 15 year warranty. Conversely, this La-Z-Boy only has a one year warranty which, basically, makes it a useless warranty for anyone buying this chair who plans on using it and who expects it to perform and be comfortable because, this La-Z-Boy Trafford chair simply WON'T LAST and it certainly won't be comfortable, in the long run.FYI, my dad had a La-Z-Boy office chair that he bought in the late early 1980's. He gave me that chair in the mid-to-late 1990's and I used it in a home office for several years in various places I lived. That old La-Z-Boy held up and was still comfortable until the day I gave it away to a neighbor. I was moving and the chair looked a bit dated so, I gave it away. In hindsight, I wish I still had that old La-Z-Boy because, they truly don't make 'em like they used to.
