Great Staircase bunk bed - Needs one small safety upgrade!
This is a great bunk bed. Here are some tips to install that includes a safety upgrade.DELIVERYDid buy this bunk bed from Dreamscape. Had detailed instructions on checking for all parts on arrival. Note you have about 48 hours to report any missing pieces or hardware which means you need to plan your assembly within that time! The delivery truck person will bring a wooden pallet and leave it in your doorway or garage and this need to be disposed of later on.INSTALLATIONIt takes about 4 to 5 hours for 1 person if done carefully and is easy to install even with power tools. Open the boxes that are labeled with hardware kit first. The instructions are fairly self-explanatory - though the labeling of the screws is a bit tricky. You need space to walk around the bed. The assembly of the stairs on the other side is easy (like in the stock picture). I slid the assembled bed later on the carpet to the edge of the wall using plastic movers (available at local Home depot - called Movealls). There are 2 instances when you definitely need 2 people - one to lift the top bed and place it on top of the bottom bed and also to carry the staircase up the stairs to the bedroom (if needed).SAFETY UPGRADEOne thing that is missing is a baseboard for the top bunk bed slats. When my light kid crawls on the top bunk I can see the slat rails bend (even when screwed in fully). So for extra safety, I added this minor upgrade for under ten bucks (which some sites sell as a slat-safety panel for 50 bucks for this same bed). I got a matching brown hardboard from a local Home Depot (8' x 4') that helped cut it into 2 pieces of 38 1/4" x 37 1/4" for carrying easily in the car and placed it on the slats. Now it feels safer and looks great from the underside.THINGS THAT CAN BE BETTERIt may be great to include the slat-safety panel as a standard option described above. The 3 drawers only go to about 1/4 of the depth of the full bed. Wish there was some way to utilize all that storage space like long under bed draws. Also, there are such long screws to hold most pieces of wood but the top bunk bed is held on top of the bottom one with just wooden plugs and screws go right into these wooden plugs. It feels a bit unsafe even though the beds don't move. I wish it was some kind of metal bolts holding the 2 beds like everywhere else in the bed.It will be nice to label the box with instructions clearly as 'Instructions - Open first' apart from the hardware kit enclosed labels.WHY THIS BUNK BED?My daughter specifically wanted this bunk bed because of the staircase and storage all around. The Merlot color looks great but in reality its a bit darker. She was very excited to have this bunk bed and she loves it!Even though the staircase bunk bed is about 3 to 4 times the cost of a ladder bunk bed, it is so easy to climb into when sleepy and is worth taking up the extra space. This bunk bed is fairly priced for a staircase bunk bed compared to most online shops and the seller seems very responsive. The cost difference between the twin over twin and full over twin is very marginal and it can house one extra person. So the Twin over full may be better. In summary, I highly recommend this bunk bed!!

Bed is great-drawers not so much.
2 years in and this bed is wonderful, sturdy and fun. We bought one with stairs bc my youngest was too little for a ladder at the time. But we quickly realized the drawers underneath are not worth the hassle. Because they are a separate until and do not extend the whole length of the bed, they constantly get jumbled and stuck. One of the drawer fronts has broken off because of having to try and readjust. We are getting rid of the underneath drawers and getting some rolling bins. The bed is 5 stars-just opt out of the drawers underneath and save the headache.

Great bunk bed for kids
This is a wonderful bed for young children. Mine was delivered very quickly. One ornamental piece of wood was split but I fixed it myself with a small cross brace. Aside from that the kit was in great shape. Also of note is that the bed now uses wood supports instead of the advertised metal. I’m not thrilled about that, but for small children it is fine. The hardware packs are thoughtfully packaged and easy to understand. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. When you have extras to the basic twin over twin bunk though, read the instructions for all kits in advance so you don’t have to disassemble your previous assemblies to assemble the extras (in my case, the double bed and the drawer kit were both extras on the instructions. Both of their assemblies had their own instructions and required disassembly of the main Structure to assemble). The lower bed takes a full sized mattress but cannot use a box spring. The upper bed similarly uses a solo mattress. The drawers operate smoothly and are very well designed. The stairs are very sturdy. In all it took about 4 hours to assemble our kit, including a break. I’m very glad I got this bed - for the price it is very good! I do wish it had the metal bed frame for the top bunk however as the wooden slats provided seem flimsy for larger kids or adults.

Handling and care for a higher cost
The price for the twin/full you will over pay close to $400 more for a 4 piece kit I ended feeling like a sucker for spending $777 the posting did not give you the option for a full/full you have to look for it and then one hex screws was bent and parts where scratch I manage to repair it my self did not have time to send it back but for $777 I expected better handling for the manufacture I'm a handyman at home and mange to fix it but for those that don't know they THE NEXT CUSTOMER WILL EXPECT BETTER HANDLING FROM THE MANUFACTURE!

Great bed at a great price.
I was surprised at how high quality this bunk bed was. I am often shy of purchasing big ticket items without seeing them. I was not disappointed with this at all. This was very easy to put together. It took me 2 and half hours from moving the boxes to the room, unboxing and putting it all together. It was very, very easy to do. The only difficulty was getting the top bunk on. That will require two people. Otherwise the rest can be down by one person. The only thing I wish was different was I wish the slats for under the beds were wood and not metal. As noted in other reviews, this definitely requires some communication with the shipping company as it is freight.

Frusterated
This bed is nice EXCEPT the quality isn't all that great. The bottom stair already broke on the edge. It's wiggly and we have retightened ALL bolts 2 times already. Not too happy with this bed. I really thought it was going to be a little better quality then it actually is.
