Great shoes and support
My husband found these in a big box store ever since then, 5+ years ago it’s the only issue he will wear. I must have fun at least six or seven pairs over the years. They hold up very well. They offer support and durability. Definitely happy with the purchase.

$160.00 Shoes cracking at two months!
I have had these shoes almost two months (with light use) and noticed cracking on the leather support piece just above the sole. To this point I had liked the shoe, but upon looking at my amazon order I have missed the return window by two weeks or so, with no mention of a warranty. Kind of shocking for a "Waterproof Hiking shoe" costing $160 dollars. Will not be buying again and everyone I told I liked the shoe I will be sharing this with them.

Excellent shoes with caveats
I do a LOT of walking, much of it in urban areas but also on trails. I have heard about the KEEN shoes for years, and I finally got a pair late in 2023. (The pair I purchased more recently from Amazon was to replace that earlier pair.)The news is mostly good. They are very comfortable shoes, and I especially appreciate the roomy toe area. The uppers are solid and stand up to mud and water — I've used them for long walks in rain. The thickness and stiffness of the sole is just right for me — not too stiff for the urban walking, but providing enough cushion and stiffness for hiking on trails, including somewhat rough trails. The little loop at the heel is actually useful when putting the shoes on. The lacing system is straightforward and effective. The shoes were comfortable right out of the box and remained so.I would like to mention two issue that buyers should be aware of. First, like many similar shoes, the removable cushioned insoles are not very durable. After six months of use or a bit less the fabric on top of the insoles began to wear and I had to replace them. More concerning to me is that the soles wore down significantly after six months, to the point that all of the heel tread was gone and a hole revealed the underlying (and less protective) inner foam layer. Unfortunately, the soles are not replaceable. In fairness, I walk a lot and I do wear shoes out this way. But do be aware of this if you purchase this shoe.

Pleasantly Surprising Fit
Keen made some changes with the Targhee 3 and it turns out to be for the better. While the comfort level of this low height hiking shoe can’t compare with my Keen casual lace ups, the fit seems to be substantially improved over my Targhee 2’s which were a snug 1/2 size larger (12D). It means I can wear thicker socks in the winter and just loosen the laces a bit and still have plenty of toe and upper foot room while my somewhat narrow heel and instep remains secure. As for looks, the bungee and black is a nice look. To those reviewers that have noted the soles delaminating over time would agree that the manufacturer could do a better laminating job as I’ve encountered similar problems with my Targhee 2’s. That said, I will attempt to minimize this problem by inspecting, cleaning and conditioning the shoes on a regular basis, even going so far as to have the shoe soles professionally re-glued,
