Great telescope for beginners
I purchased this telescope for my 7 year old daughter's birthday and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this. Because she has never owned a telescope before and only recently decided she was even interested in one, price was a concern as I didn't want to go overboard if this was not something she was going to stick to. Luckily this item offered the best of both worlds as it offers good image quality to allow her to see some of the items that she wanted to (moon, stars), so we'll see where she goes form here. Easily to assemble as well. I would recommend using a larger camera tripod if you don't want to set this telescope on an outdoor table as its legs are a bit short.

Great starter!
Bought this for a gift for my husband who loves to look at stars! After looking at several decided this was the best for the price. While definitely for a beginner, this is a strong enough telescope to dip your toes into some serious star gazing. It was easy to assemble and the instructions were simple to understand. gamer! Had a little trouble with the phone adapter staying on the view finder, but after several tries we managed to get it. You will most likely have to take your phone out of it's case to use, so use caution when attaching to telescope. All in all we would highly recommend for a beginning star gazer!

Great beginners telescope
My 4 year old granddaughter is very intrigued with the solar system and she loves looking through my husband's telescope every opportunity she gets. I wanted to buy a telescope of her own that was great for beginners and easy to operate. She was thrilled when we gave it to her for Christmas and it was so fun to see her excitment. Assembly was simple and took less than 10 minutes to set up. It's compact and lightweight which makes it simple for her to take it to multiple locations. The tripod is stable but a little disappointed that it will not extend so It needs to be placed on a table or the ground. My daughter-in-law uses her camera tripod if there's not a table or flat surface. I like that it comes with different magnification lens which are easy to swap and the images are clear. It also comes with a phone adapter but it could be a little tricky to use because the weight of the phone tends to move the eyepiece putting the images out of focus. Over all if you're on a budget and want a telescope for beginners that is easy to use then this telescope is for you. I am not disappointed for choosing to buy this telescope.

Pretty disappointed
Well the set is cute but the description was deceiving it described the pieces as being sturdy and not sharp. Some of the sand molds are in fact sturdy with flat edges but some of the others are very very thin and sharp and cheap. It’s like I got two different types of molds. The blue shovel and the green rake are also very very thin with sharp edges and bend very easily they are super cheap feeling. The whole set was a lot smaller than I thought it was going to be I did not measure it out so I guess that part is my fault. And lastly it did come with a mesh bag but it’s a pathetic one because all the pieces do not easily fit in it and you have to really jam them in and it still wont close all the way. How hard would it have been to include a large enough bag that you didn’t have to jam everything in so tight that you rip the cheap bag. Really guys?

Fun toy grade telescope
If you are looking for a relatively easy to use, budget telescope, this does the job nicely. Is it perfect? No. If you are an amateur astronomer, this probably isn't for you. If you are a parent/grandparent looking for a gift for an inquisitive child, this is fantastic. I was impressed with how clear the images were. The spotting scope actually is usable making finding images in the objectives much easier. The tripod is quite stable, which is a huge plus. Unfortunately, its also tiny. You'll either need to put it on a table or lay in the grass. I used an old camera tripod and it worked out pretty well, but it wasn't as maneuverable and stable as the included tripod.Using this telescope with a phone and the included holder is a little tricky. The eye piece holder is not set firmly in place, so the weight of a phone tends to move it quite a bit. This results in the image being pulled out of the frame. This is accentuated when trying to use the Barlow adapter making it almost unusable, especially with a phone. I think looking through the eye piece gives a much better experience than using it with a phone. The telescope is very compact. Save the box and store everything inside. The telescope is also small enough to be stored on a desk or shelf.Update: I added a layer of painters tape around the neck of the focus arm. This helped a lot with stability when focusing. My images are no longer pulled out of frame when attaching a cell phone. I designed an adapter to connect my Nikon 1 cameras to the scope and the images turned out pretty amazing. The moon can easily be explored and the moons of Jupiter are clearly visible. I even captured Saturn with it's rings, though it's tiny and blury. Don't expect to see a lot of detail of the planets.
