Loos Cableware C9 Felco Cable Cutter for Up To 1/4" Wire Rope

Many cable cutters will tell you they cut stainless steel cable but alas only crush it. These cut cleanly. Impressive.

My hands aren't strong, but this works for me.

Overall very good cutter jaws well machined with poorly designed adjustment nut. To adjust you must use ultra thin open end wrench to tighten and loosen jam nut with thin face. Easy to round corner, hard to get within push force spec which came from factory too tight. Even factory could not adjust right. Also the grips work OK, but are old tech and could be updated with better gripping and more comfortable material. Have not found anything in this price range that is better. Replacement parts are readily available but especially cutting jaws are pricey so you may as well buy an entire new tool if you find a discounted price.

Smm my all but mighty. Just like its country of origin. It cuts cable. I think it would cut through the Matterhorn

I bought the cable cutter to rerig my Pearson Commander sailboat. In addition after I'm done I plan to keep it onboard in case of a dismasting where I need to cut the damaged rig loose from the boat or to repair a shroud if needed. My rigging is 1 x 19 SS and this cutter will cut through it pretty well. The handles are shorter than many cable cutters I've seen and will much more easily stow on my boat. I would recommend these to my friends.

I can vouch for a good cut in 3/16” wire rope.
