Nice little kayak for the money.
This is a very nice kayak for the money $598. The seat is very comfortable with an adjustable back. The waterproof compartment just in front of the seat contains a plastic bait tray with about 5 compartments and is about 4” or so deep. I found this to be a nice little surprise as I was not aware that the kayak included that. It comes with rudder pedals and the kayak is set up for a rudder all you have to do is purchase the rudder kit. I’m a tall guy 6’5” and I fit very nicely, after I removed the pedals. I can completely stretch my legs out. The kayak is very stable and tracks very well and can hold a good amount of gear. The only downside is the paddle. It’s short and caused me to keep hitting the sides with my hands. I upgraded with a third party fiberglass paddle that is 250 CM and that did the trick. Overall, I am very happy with the purchase.

Great kayak but a couple things to know
Great kayak. Tracks well very easy to maneuver in tight spaces. Was able to go over a sandy bar 8 inches deep without touching. Arrived in well wrapped bubble wrap. The latch knob was broken though so they're sending replacements. The chair is comfortable and doesn't wobble. I didn't bother strapping it either. Just loosely tied the strap to the yak in case I spilled over so I wouldnt lose it. It's very stable and hard to capsize on lakes and slow streams. I think this is tough to beat to get a yak this size that is also rudder capable with the features. I got the yellow red since that was the only color available at that time and I didn't want to wait too long. Fish were biting. I thought it might be ugly but it actually looks great in person. What to know...I found it heavier than reported, close to 55 lbs based on me holding it standing on a bathroom scale. Take it for what it's worth. It was heavier than our old town vapor 10 listed at 47 lbs so this seemed right to me. This is the yak without the chair. I debated about a 4 star because of this but any sot this size is at least that so i kept at 5 starsShipping is SLOW. arrived 2 weeks late. A month total. It was shipped out by bkc right away but AM Trucking took close to a month to find their way to me in Indiana. Again. Another star hit possibility but that has nothing to do w the kayak. Just be aware and you wont be as frustrated if it happens.Bkc customer service was always responsive to all of my questions and follow ups. No complaints there.Just as others said be patient.

What you want and didn’t even know it!
This is my first kayak. I wanted something I could load and unload myself that gave me the opportunity to add accessories, stand up, and paddle around lakes and rivers. This kayak does it all very well. This is not a 14 foot pedal drive kayak. As long as that is a know thing I think this is a great starter for people of any age.So far three fishing trips, total about 12 hours on the water. Comfort in this kayak is incredible. I was out for nearly four hours and hadn’t realized it. The adjustability of the foot pegs and the seat added to the slightly elevated position of the seat make this thing a dream to hang out on.Tracking and paddling. It’s smooth. It goes. A mile out and a mile back are nothing. The bill doesn’t cause much water build up on the front and even with me, my gear, and snacks I didn’t feel any slow down or undo friction on the water.Stability. Yeah it has that. It’s a 10 foot kayak. You won’t find many that you can stand up on and move around. You can with this one as long as you keep your shoulders over the deck. It will tip but you have to work for it.Storage space. Two storage areas are covered, one forward and one center. Both are awesome. I use the center, square, storage area for my fish finder and, snacks, and other odds and ends I may want for some reason or another. No issues. It seals well, sometimes really really well. It can be confusing until you learn the lock positions to know if you’ve unlocked it or if it’s just vacuumed itself to a nice seal. Not a horrible thing. The front I use for keeping my rod mount and extra clothing layers. It’s perfect for holding a small amount of once and awhile use gear. No issues getting to it either. The rear area with a the bungie cord is the perfect size for a crate or small cooler. Very accessible, nothing crazy or exceptional.Rod holders. There are two flush mounted behind the seat, and one that mounts in the center. All are excellent. Easy to reach and use. The ones behind the seat are a great size for any rod, reel combo. The center, removable, mount is just great. I e had bait casters and spinning rods in it. No problem.Paddle cleats. Not my favorite. I don’t have the most dexterous hands so fiddling with the bungie and cleat on the water is less than fun. Not a big deal just a pain sometimes.Left and right track mounts. Just what you need. I have mounted my fish finder to them with no issues. Great length and fit for whatever you’re wanting to add.The cup holder in the center... that’s my big complaint. It’s not large enough to hold a regular sized coffee thermos. It does, however, provide a great spot to put lures.Overall this thing is a great kayak. It’s the right price point for entry level anglers or leisure kayakers. It’ll provide what you want and some things you didn’t even know you wanted! Five out of five.

Could have been a great purchase
I am handicapped and this "sit on" kayak held great promise. The size and weight appeared perfect and the padded seat was just what I needed.Unfortunately there were problems. The packaging did not protect the kayak from damage. It appeared used with scratches and dings. The padded seat was missing. The pole holder was loose in a storage bin.The replacement came with the seat, but still had the handling damage.I have ordered other kayaks and they came in well padded packaging with no shipping damage. This kayak had great promise ,but the problems mentioned prevented satisfaction.

Screwed up order
I am totally dissatisfied!!! I ordered two very expensive Brooklyn kayaks last spring. We opened my wife’s up not long after receipt of them. Everything fine, including the firm deluxe aluminum framed (supportive) seat. I just opened mine the fisher model and the “ deluxe seat I ordered with mine does not fit this kayak. Both kayaks ordered from the same page on Amazon........ I hope to return for a replacement kayak just like my wife’s which the deluxe seat fits perfectly. I tried to sit in this one with the cheap flimsy seat that came with it. My back cannot handle this seat.......I still have the deluxe seat I hoped to use. Please help me to exchange my kayak for one like the blue one we ordered. Help! Steve Gilmore. 606-923-2947. Help
