Useful tool and survival tool
Very sharp, sturdy and well made, not too big and comfortable grip.

Thrusting spear not a throwing spear
Overall I am very happy with the quality that Outdoor Edge offers. Their knives come sharp right out of the box, so be very careful when handling. As you can see from their photos the handle comes wrapped with paracord and you unwrap the handle to secure the blade to a pole. If you choose to rewrap the handle you are to remove the nylon top part of the sheath from the bottom. This makes the rewrap easier and protects the fingers of the person doing the wrapping from the very sharp edge. I have been unable to remove the nylon top from the bottom as yet because the screws holding the top to the bottom half spin in place. You are to go to you tube to view how to rewrap the handle. I chose to leave the handle unwrapped as it takes a good while to unwrap the handle. I will be going to the hardware store to find some flat headed bolts that will secure the blade to the included handle. I can use it as a knife until I make a spear out of it. One thing to note is you void the warranty if you throw the spear you make. They show how to use it as a thrusting spear that the back end dose not leave your hand. You have a knife that's reach is increased by the length of the pole you attach it to.

The amount of quality you get in just 30 bucks
The media could not be loaded. I love the quality of the knife. By far one of the best ones I have now. I have alot of very very expensive knives, I collect them and test them out in the mountains. If your into bushcraft and surviving with what you got them you'll love this Knife. Its awesome and I'd recommend it for anyone

Didn't quite cut it for me
I really wanted to like this knife, but unfortunately, I don't. For the price, I knew the package would have some limitations, but I would gladly have paid extra for this system to be of better quality. The knife itself was very dull and almost impossible to sharpen for some reason. Your experience may vary, but I am decent at sharpening knives and this is one of the worst I have ever dealt with. Also, the plastic handle quality seemed a little sub par, although I cannot comment on how well it holds up, as I have no desire to use the product further.I will say that the knife is wrapped quite well and the compass worked surprisingly well. I like the idea of a convertible knife package, but this one just didn't hit the mark for me. Perhaps it would work better as a spear? At this price, try your luck if you wish, but I would personally consider the money better spent on other cutlery or gear.

Sharp it's a pokey sharp spear/harpoon.
It will keel.

Unnecessary, but fun & useful
It is one more tool, added to the arsenal. Let's be honest...who doesn't want to quickly turn a knife(of sorts) into a legit spear? The attachment for a screw-in broom stick was deemed useless & tossed immediately. Otherwise, in the right hands, the Harpoon could be quite useful, for food gathering and/or a weapon.

Not essential, but still useful
For me, EDC is knife and fire. BOK expands to shelter, clothing layers, water purification, first aid, communication, navigation. This would go into an expanded BOK--it is awkward but sort of neat. Would it add much beyond a knife, machete and axe? Not at all. Would you throw it in if you had a little time and space to get ready. I would.
