Kind of a jarring discovery...
The jars are great. The plastic grommet that helps make them air-tight... Not so much. In fact, none of the jars sealed. I knew I was going to have problems when I opened the box and found all of the lids were "popped up" and unsealed. The plastic was either too stuff or not formed properly to allow the seal to stay. They pushed the top up so it just sat on the top, with no "air-tightness" at all. I thought it might be air compression, but when I removed the lid part and put in the grommet, it still pushed up. The top lip of the grommet appears to be angled incorrectly to catch the inside of the lip of the jar to seal it, and instead forces the lid upward.Given that I plan on using these for dip-pen ink wells, a sealing top is needed to keep the ink from drying (Anything that may need to be air-tight wouldn't be good in these as is). My solution is to get glass glue, grab some neoprene (or leather or cork) and create a new grommet that actually seals. The glass lid has a ridge in it to help hold on the plastic grommet which should facilitate the gluing on of an alternative way to seal it.Another method would be to buy a #10 rubber stopper or a size 26 cork stopper - both of which are available on Amazon, but that will cost significantly more than these did (between $16-$26 for four of them, depending on how they're ordered). If the grommet in these was either angled differently, or softer, it would work well. But as it is, these will take effort, or more money, to make work in an "air-tight" fashion. If you're a hobbyist, you may like the tinkering factor (I'm not put off by this), but if you need "air tight" and you're not looking to cork it or stopper it or play with glue and some sealing material, I'd pass if I was you.

Love the square shape
Love the square shape, ordered 24 of these and wrote spice names on the tops with chalk markers and put them in rows in alphabetical order in a shallow drawer next to the stove (I buy small amounts of spices from the bulk bins at our local Winco). Voilรก! Spice drawer! The plastic seals seem a little cheaper than others I've seen, but should hold up for a long while. So easy now to find what I need in about 2 seconds!

Good Quality Bottles
I originally used these to hold prescription drugs, but recycled them to hold spices and the like. They appear to be good quality and I like the fact that they are very hard to knock over.

I really like these little jars
I really like these little jars. They are the perfect size and they have a pretty good airtight seal. The glass seems pretty durable. I've dropped one a couple times and nothing broke and it didn't pop open or anything. I plan on buying these again in the future

These are the perfect little jars
These are perfect, square bottom, with a round top I need a larger size though. I looked for a larger size but, could not locate one that would accommodate my needs.

These are a great size, holding enough to use but not so ...
I've finally organized my spices in standard containers instead of the multiple free but odd sizes. These are a great size, holding enough to use but not so much they'll go stale, and the square sizes mean they all fit together and on top of one another very nicely. I broke one by dropping it on top of another glass, but other than that they seem sturdy.

Really like the jars
Really like the jars. Only problem was that on of the jars was broken and on another, the lid was broken. Other than that, It was exactly what I was looking for.

I've used mine with both whole and ground spices with great success. The seal has held up on all ...
The spices go in, the lids go on, the spices stay fresh. I've used mine with both whole and ground spices with great success. The seal has held up on all of mine through multiple washings and opening them several times a day. I only hand wash mine so I'm not sure how they would hold up in an automatic washer.
