Great taste!
I looked for some fish flavored bouillon and really couldn't find any. well, there was one name brand product I would have been fine with but it was only available in a case for well over $100 and I didn't want it THAT bad. So I wound up trying this stuff. It isn't cheap but this 4 bottle listing is the best value running about $2 cheaper per bottle than the single or 2 pack listings I looked at. They are hit or miss in our local stores so that's why I am ordering it here and now (Now being during this Corona virus outbreak)The product is kind of a paste/gel. It is comparable in use to bouillon, dissolves readily in hot, boiling water though leaving less solids than bouillon. Also takes about the same amount of product to produce a quantity of broth as does bouillon. But, it has a slightly lower sodium content than bouillon and, to me, a milder, less salty taste than a similar rending of bouillon. I find I much prefer it to bouillon for most things especially sauces or gravies. Now, for something to season noodles say, or anything where I will be discarding much or all of the rendered broth, I will still use bouillon in the flavors in which I can get it- beef or chicken. The following is a bit personal but I figure showing an example of how I use this "Better than Bouillon" fish flavored base should be of some value to a review. If you're not interested, skip it... I rendered some base into broth and heated peeled shrimp in it, added the resultant broth and shrimp to rice letting the broth flavor the rice. Then I added mushrooms to the cooked rice and shrimp and sauteed the whole in butter & olive oil with a little chopped onion and garlic and a few other seasonings to suit myself. The resultant dish was, to me, simply wonderful! I have prepared similar dishes prior to getting this fish base and while good, they utterly lacked the flavor satisfaction this base gave it. Now I can't imaging being w/out it, especially since I am very fond of seafood.I find the chicken flavor to be very good too. The beef, not so much. I find the 'veggie' flavor be a just plain intensely salty taste. That's all I've tried. That's it. I hope it helps.
