WAY TOO SOFT. Leaves permanent indentions from rollers on chair AFTER 10 MINUTES USE
I wish I had realized just how soft this product is before cutting it to an exact size to replace another mat that is over 12 years old. The other mat had cracks after all these years so I purchased this one. My carpet and pad add up to 3/4" in my basement, item description says good for up to 1", NOT!! Absolutely worthless, looks like I ate the cost of this useless mat. Believe me this would be returned immediately had I not cut it. BE WARNED, THE PLASTIC IS TOO SOFT AND DENTS BADLY AFTER ABOUT 10 MINUTES OF USE. STAY CLEAR AND FIND A BETTER PRODUCT.

do your research -- possibly the best mat at an excellent price
I encourage looking at esrchairmats.com/ for details about this mat and general guidance for selecting a mat. this is a thick, vinyl mat that does have some flex to it as other reviewers have commented on. for keeping the mat in place, ESR has an unusual cross-hatch pattern that seems to work better than anything other mat i've ever had. I have had multiple mats, all w/ less flex, that have all eventually cracked/shattered making them useless. In contrast, this mat has a lifetime warranty (keep the barcode/product id on the shipping box as proof of purchase). if you want a really hard surface i'd suggest getting a piece of 1/4" plywood and simply drilling it into the floor. If you want a more traditional mat that actually works on carpeting--i'm giving it 5 stars

Decent on 1in pile carpet.
I wish the "studs" underneath were longer, but the mat is nice and thick and pliable that it does the job.The last mat I had was apparently for flat/low-low carpet or bare floor. It was half as thick and stiff so it shattered.THIS MAT does leave indentations where the wheels of the chair sit, but I am also 230 some pounds heavy (plus the chair). The mat is holding up.If I were to make a new purchase, I would probably have to pay upwards of twice as much, but I think it is mainly because I have a super thick carpet.

Best chair mat ever
I have used chair mats in my home office for over 25 years and this ES Robbins EverLife Anchor Bar Lipped Vinyl Chair Mat for High Pile Carpet, 45 by 53-Inch is the best mat I have ever had. I am very heavy and most mats crack or buckle or you can't roll out of the craters that the chair casters have created. This mat is very thick and sturdy but it is also supple. I can roll with ease, there is not even a hint of cracks, it stays in place and smooth to the carpet.I never even imagined that such a great mat existed for heavy people.

Buyers Beware
This product clearly states the thickness as .25 which is 1/4" - it's NOT. It is closer to 1/8". Maybe they shipped me the wrong product but I think it is more likely they misrepresent the thickness. I can't recommend this product. The seller also has a NON - REFUNDABLE policy.

You will slide with ease.
There is no sign of cracking or breaking in any way. When I sit on it I see a dent from my weight but when I move the dent disappears. I moved it the other day to shampoo the carpet and I noticed that it still looks new. I found it to be very strong. I would buy it again.

Not made for high-pile carpets, indents immediately
Bought this for high-pile carpet, as I work from home and have carpeting all over my house. The first one I bought was for medium-pile carpets as I wasn't sure how thick the carpeting was. That one immediately got huge indents, making it hard for me to move my chair around, so I purchased this one, as it insisted it could handle 1" carpeting. Immediately after starting to use it, the wheels of my chair made indents, and I'm having the same problem with my chair rolling back into the indents instead of staying where I put it. The anchors on the bottom are nowhere near as long as they need to be for the type of carpet they claim to be able to withstand.tl;dr not worth the money or the hassle, still searching for a chair mat that works

Mat Came with Free Mouse
Mat quality fine but a bit soft. Came with free mouse in the packaging. I mean a real mouse. Our two cats were delighted. Hope the mat is more durable than the mouse.
