This item was packaged well and was intact on receipt. It did have a smell but as requested, I soaked it about 6 hours. I also lightly went over it with a soft tooth brush. I did not and have not noticed any shedding of the "green moss" as described in other reviews. I laid it on it's side to fill the bottom crevasses with water and set it up right. It holds in place. It is the perfect size for my Fluval Flex 15 gallon aquarium. I'm not sure if the green will inevitably fade but there is enough greenery in my tank so I am not concerned about that. My fish and my shrimp appear to like it. Good value and very cute design.

The piece looks very nice….but….it’s very sharp on the pieces that aren’t covered by moss, so much so I cut my finger and somehow got little plastic shard slivers. I have fish that like to rub against stuff so I can only imagine the outcome and not taking that chance. Maybe I just got a dud, and no, I wouldn’t be able to sand down the sharp pieces, the entire backside is rugged and sharp. Others have been happy with theirs so maybe I got a bad piece. I returned it.

Overall, the only thing that really bothered me about this product is that the little buildings on the ornament are attached with a black epoxy of some kind instead of a clear glue. I actually got this ornament with plans of removing the buildings so my betta could rest on one of the grassy ledges but after I got it and saw that it was attached with epoxy and not the "standard" hot glue, those hopes were quickly dashed as the little building won't even slightly budge. They also used way to much of it to attach the buildings to the ornament. It makes the ornament look very cheap, is clearly visible even from a distance and was by far the thing I was most disappointed about when I first took it out of the package.That being said, I do overall think that this is a pretty good product. The size is the same as advertised but I will warn that unless you are very good at visualizing the exact dimensions of objects, this will appear smaller then expected when you first take it out of the box. I got this for my betta and personally think this ornament is much better suited for smaller fish like neon tetras or guppies. I didn't even put it in with Ripley after I got it because I knew he would not be able to swim through or under it without getting squished. I also would not put this in a tank over 10 inches tall as the size proportions start to look a little off the higher the tank is. I put it in front of both my 5.5 gallon and my 2.5 gallon plant tank and personally thought it looked much more at home with the 2.5 gallon.Like many other people, I did have the floating fuzzies problem but after scrubbing it with a toothbrush and then blasting it with a garden hose I was able to get all the loose "grass" off. On one last happy note, after all that abuse the paint still looks great and has suffered no damage so I think the overall quality is very good and would hold up for a long time.

Came broken into three pieces, and the texture was extremely rough. I wouldn’t want my betta to brush against it.

The media could not be loaded. This item is really nice. I was a little concerned regarding the moss texture but it wasn’t an issue once I soaked it. It fit perfectly and though I only have one fish, I will add two more as these are community fish

I've got a 30 gallon tank and this fits nicely off to the side a bit. The description mentions fish have a place to hide with this piece, but I don't find that accurate at all. I suppose if you put it up against something, otherwise it's more of an archway than a cave to hide in. Still pretty cute, though.

I have a very small tank that I wanted to grow plants in and use this as the focal point. It tends to fade and the green color isn't strong. The shape is lovely.
