A must-have for live performances in small venues
I bought this item for use at small-venue gigs for monitoring, backing tracks etc.Item arrived well-packed, no issues with battery charging/battery life.Setup was straightforward (recommend CH2 for backing/line-level and save CH1 for mics requiring phantom power.Support was awesome when I encountered issues with the app (use JBL Pro Connect). after that, smooth sailing all the way! This unit has more than enough power for small venues, plenty of low-end handling, also sounds amazing when BT streaming. On the live performance side, I run Roland SPD One WAV through an ART Tube MP Studio into CH2, and add some bass to add punch to backing tracks. The on-board FX are a bonus - we normally use outboard units and will experiment with the on-board options.EQ is simple to set on-board, and even better with the JBL Pro Connect app.Great value, good price point, will definitely consider a second unit, THANKS!

It’s very flexible, didn’t see others in this range with so many features.
In this space of all-in-one battery powered speakers, this seems to have all the bases covered, especially for a one person show. The four channel mixer is easy to use, especially with the JBL “pro” app. It also has effects like reverb, chorus and delay, great for acoustic guitar and vocals. Best of all, it sounds better than the others I tried in this space (didn’t try Bose S1). I got lucky and bought it “like new” and it was just like new. The only thing I don’t like on it is the on/off method, but getting ised to it Used it in a medium room for a show, barely had to turn it up. Going for an outdoor gig next. Might want to get another one to synch up for more sounds coverage. But we’ll see.

Unreliable. Just stopped working.
This worked fantastic the first week. I am using it to sing with my rock band. It's loud enough. It's great. It's very lightweight. It's simple to eQ. BUT THEN IT STOPPED producing sound. Now I cannot get any sound to come out. It's not broken. I have done all the troubleshooting necessary. It's some kind of defect with the way the program works in the unit. I get NO SOUND from any channel with my perfectly good mic and perfectly good cable. Scary.I never really needed the blutooth part of this, and I believe it is complicating the unit. I don't eed the sofware either. Just need a good loud PA to sing out of which compliments my voice.I am returning both units and continuing to shop for something else.

Professional Features / Tips with this Speaker
If your bass sounds lacking bump the eq a few dbs around 100 hertz with a wide parameter (low number).Learn the app. I was frustrated at first with the physical dials and seeing everything in the sunlight then got the app and it blew me away. It is easy to use for pros and feature rich compared to basic DSP on other speakers. It might not be as easy to use for a someone new to tuning their speakers. I highly suggest learning these features to make it sound how you want it.It likely doesn't have strong preamps to keep the price down per unit. I'm cool with that. Use it with an external mixer. They don't cost much. I use a Yamaha MGO6X (with a battery pack when needed for portability). It get great volume, and sounds incredible when paired with this speaker.I was debating between this, Maui 5 Go, and a Bose S1. I chose this because I can get 2 for nearly the price of a Maui 5 Go and have better stereo separation. A tripod is more stable on uneven ground and with wind. I can use it as an easy setup monitor for DJing, easily bring it anywhere with minimal setup and breaking down (the bag sold separately is also awesome and convenient). It also isn't multiple pieces like a column array. The Bose S1 sounds great but has much more limited low end (critical to a professional sound when playing music), doesn't get as loud, and distorts easier when played at high volumes for extended periods of time. For best sound quality use a wired (non-bluetooth connection) with two of these set to stereo. Bluetooth compresses the signal and limits the potential of sound quality and remember to start with great quality audio files (high quality MP3s, and lossless .wav, .aiff, or .flac when possible).

Decent speaker
I purchased one of these 4 months ago. When using for a keyboard and vocal mic, it seemed to work well in a decent sized room with a crowd of about 50-60 people. The sound is ok for what it is. It is easy to use. Directions were easy to follow. The iPhone app nicely laid out. The issue I have, which precludes me from giving 5 stars is the bluetooth connection. The signal drops making it difficult to control the speaker via iPad/iphone. If this were fixed, I would definitely give 5 stars. The bluetooth lack of connectivity was also an issue when attempting to play music from an iphone/ipad. If this issue is remedied, it is a great speaker for smaller applications. Decent sound.

Ideal for the Solo Guitarist Singer
I'm an old musician, and this unit can be carried in one hand pretty easily (not even counting the nifty, expensive case I've avoided buying), rechargeable battery powered and is loud and clear as hell for most small gig situations.PROS: Superb size, weight and portability; can be configured as a monitor, main or on an optional speaker pole (can be run in stereo if you shell out for another one).- Interface with the JBL Android app works perfectly, not completely intuitive, but manageable.- Spotify runs great through it between sets.- Battery powered (BRING AN EXTRA PLUG JIC)- Cool Green lights glowing! Spooky...CONS:- Not especially intuitive to get started and very minimal support, even from the website's manual.- I've had weirdness in it holding charges, thus my suggestion to bring the power cord along; this may be operator error, however.- The green dials are indeed spooky, but setting them manually, as opposed to the phone app, is tricky, at best. Should have the option to more precisely control it right from the back of the unit. All in all, I would recommend this product to others
