As far as I can see there are 2 different versions available.1) Open top which I can't comment on as that is not the one I bought.2) This one has a lid. All you have to do is tap the lid and it opens. At first I struggled to get the inner plastic bin out but soon found the knack. Just open the lid and you will see little brown "tabs" inside slots on both sides of the coloured plastic shell. Just press those in at the same time then lift the outer shell. The inside bin is left behind.I must admit that the opening is a little smaller than I would have liked as I use this as a kitchen worktop food waste bin. But that is on me - they give the measurements in the description. I just didn't bother double checking. But the unit itself is so smart and compact that decided to keep it and I use it every day.UPDATE. I have just deducted two stars as one of the little tabs has broken less than a year after purchase. The bin is still usable but not as stable as it used to be. I expected better durability from a product that is designed for daily use.

Extremely pleased with this little plastic bin. The inside bit slides out of the outer shell, and there were little bags provided which was a bonus. I’ve got it on my bedside table, which will be really handy as the main bedroom bin is across the room. I have mobility problems so this saves me getting up

The trash can itself seems to be OK. However, in the name of the product it clearly said that 60 plastic bags were also included. Not a single bag was actually included in the package I received. Perhaps information on the product has to be amended to be accurate. Not worth the money without the bags. Disappointing...

I have a small bathroom where I can't have a bin on the floor and this fits perfectly on the counter top. Just beware that the inner bin is brown and not black. With the lid you will not see that. There were no plastic bags with my purchase which I don't mind as you really don't need to add more plastic waste to mother nature.

Just what I needed, small discreet and handy for under dressing table, nice pink shade. Was packed well. The waste bags are decent quality also. Oh and it actually came much earlier than estimated delivery 👍🏽

The inside portion of this bin is brown, which had I known I would not have ordered, I thought it was black, so now I have to use the provided black un environmentally friendly liners to cover it up ( not ideal) otherwise it’s a modern design small practical bin as required.

Colour matches my bedroom perfect, the little bags are a great little touch. The outer case doesn't clip to the inside bin very well so when you pick it up the bottom falls out which is a little annoying but it does the job and isn't too big. Good purchase!

I like the concept of this, but the product is not very high quality and feels a little light and flimsy. It is thin plastic. It also gets full very quickly due to its size.
