Good in hand
Good to use in the field. Knife fits my XxL hands without slipping. Leather sheath is 100x better than the kydex version. Will need to sharpen often / between hunts. This version is discontinued will be hard to find in a few years in leather sheath. Recommend.

Great quality
I bought this for my youngest son. I like to get my boys there first hunting knife and I hope that they have it to pass on some day so I look for quality. This knife will be around a long time. Great blade and balanced well.

ESEE!!!!
Another ESEE home run! I’m not a hunter but I can see how this would be a great skinning knife. The handle is great and bigger than I thought. It comes with a great leather sheath. So many times you get a great knife with a crap sheath. This sheath is really nice with good quality leather. Between the great knife and sheath this is a great deal. I’ve paid much more than this and got WAY less. If you think you like this knife I’m guessing you won’t be disappointed.

Best fixed blade, ever.
Purchased for son, this is his review.“Third ESEE knife, probably 20th+ fixed blade. This is my favorite fixed blade I’ve ever used. Full size grip feels great, shape and texture doesn’t create “hot spots”, and the blade size and shape is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT for field dressing and camp work. Sheath is well made, but recommend thoroughly oiling and then adding snoseal. You won’t be disappointed with this blade!

Handle not comfortable
It’s a good knife in most ways but has a flaw which is the shape of the handle. It doesn’t sit well in the hand due to the bump near the top. Look at the picture. The middle finger sits right in the middle of the bump which is the opposite of what you want. Perhaps it will fit better if you have really large hands. If I slide my hand back further the bump is between the middle and index finger. The problem then is that the bump is too wide. So it wedges the two fingers apart which is also uncomfortable. So basically there is no really comfortable way of holding the knife. Perhaps I’ll grind it down or make a new handle. I wish I bought the ESEE 3 instead which looks to have a far better handle with no finger grooves.
