Two stars because I was refunded promptly and without argument. This product does not work. As a Bluray and DVD player, it freezes infuriatingly often.Do not buy.

P.O.S.
First off I want to parrot much of what Ian posted on Jun 9th 2012The main reason i purchased this is it is CHEAP and supports component out.the goodFor some reason, this actually plays Blu-rays better than DVDs. Less skipping, pausing and the audio track hasn't gotten out of sync yet that i have seen.Supports composite/component/HDMInow the bad...the settings menu is limited. The audio and video menus offers a few choices but have occasionally reset back to 'default' setting after a power cycle. It does not support streaming that i can detect. It does not support wireless networking, which isn't a problem for me.Setting up the network is really impossible. I prefer to setup static addresses, after multiple attempts, when you save the changes it saves everything BUT the default gateway. Kinda important in networking. I can not get it to accept a gateway either static or dhcp. Since it's disconnected from the internet it complains about it and I think part of the poor playing experience is linked to this issue. The instructions that came with it seem to be generic or written for a different model. Either way, poor documentation. It turns completely off after 10-15 minutes or so when paused. This is not configurable. Annoying. After pausing, rewinding/fast forwarding (fast forwarding because you paused it for a break and it turned off) it begins to sk-sk-skip or take 2-20 second audio/video pauses, which is most annoying. This is only resolved with another power cycle. Also after pausing, rewinding/fast forwarding, the audio get out of sync. At first I thought it was the disc, but after a power cycle it played ok again. This behavior will escalate until the entire player freezes up and yet another reboot is required.A VERY CHEAP product, in all aspects.

Watch out for the functionality
I have ordered two of these boxes. The first one fooled me because it required a hard router connection and I had see another model (#520) that did not. Assumed that all worked the same way. That one was returned. The second box arrived for another TV and I had decied to go ahead with a wired connection. In this one, the Netflix connection did not work. the answer I got from the tech support was that "it did not work and to send it back for a newer model." The User Guide showed it working for that model. I take the blame for not reading the (vague) technical description regarding the hard-wired aspect, but the inability to link to Netflix clearly is a flaw that should have been defined. The newer model 520 has all of this, so be careful in ordering a cheaper model 500.

Usually works, but flimsiest home entertainment hardware I've ever owned
I got it for Christmas with my Dad almost apologizing, "it's a cheap blu ray player". I've used it for the last two years, and it's easily the most unreliable piece of electronics I've owned. Sometimes it will just freeze and refuse to turn on, leaving you to unplug it and plug it back in from the wall. You can't do this from the back of the device, so you have to dig around behind your couch or entertainment center to hard reboot it. Sometimes it won't eject discs or makes you wait 60 seconds before finally coughing it up. Blu rays also take forever to load, so pop one in and go someplace else for a while. All that said, it plays blu rays and I've been using it for about two years now. I'll finally get a nicer one now that I have a 3D projector, since this one doesn't support 3D Blu Ray.

Great product
I would give this 5 stars however I ended up replacing the IR led on the remote. Prior to the replacement it would act up when pressing the buttons, sometimes required multiple presses. I bought two of them from Fry's electronics when I was working a bunch of over time. I wish the BD live has more information. The box said support for Netflix however there is no application for that. No WiFi only RJ45. I needed a component HD unit and it is still working many years later
