The media could not be loaded. Very easy to use, I use it on our boat so it’s very convenient and easy to pack. It will turn a little black in color but that’s because of the flame and heat, I call it seasoning the toaster. Can’t go wrong with this

Worked well on the colman propane stove when it was on high. Toast came out great, though we did have to babysit it a bit and turn the bread over to make sure it toasted on both sides and prevent it from drying out.

This is a wonderfully effective toaster! It is a little primitive, yet produces such very good toast that I see no reason to ever go back to a silly electricity-gobbling counter clutter toaster. This is made of 4 wires that fold flat on a perforated metal plate, then are raised into a truncated pyramid shape when it’s time to put the bread on. The toast has to be carefully watched because it is ( in my case) sitting on top of the gas burner grate and gets hot very rapidly, so the toast could burn (one side anyway) in a matter of a minute or so. I let the side facing in turn a rich dark brown before flipping it over with tongs to toast the second side. It is easy to do, and since each side of each piece of bread browns at a slightly different rate you can get a very customized stack of toast; in fact it’s the best toast I have ever had. And you can’t beat the price. If you don’t mind watching it for a min. or so, get one!

Works as expected. Toasts fairly well especially when doing 4 slices as more heat gets trapped and speeds up the process. If its windy, it will take longer or not work very well. The corrosion factor is why I gave 3 stars. This will corrode no matter how clean you try and keep it. However , I still am using it after several camping trips.

For years, I always used a toaster oven because I felt that a toaster, doing only one thing was a waste of space on my precious counter real estate. Then I graduated to a convection / toaster oven which worked really well for everything. In fact, I used it much more than the microwave and if I had to choose between the two, the convection / toaster would win every time. With it, I could roast a small chicken, cook pizza and anything else that goes in the oven - quicker because a convection is made to work faster. I'd found an el cheapo one made by Black and Decker at Walmart which held up really well. The one prior was a DeLonghi - which I would not recommend because it only lasted a year and the knobs ultimately broke off.When I recently moved, I decided to get a combo convection / microwave and thought that because it had a "grill" feature that I could easily make toast. I was wrong. While it is possible, it takes forever and often is a bit gummy or over cooked, not the way you want your toast to be. Poking around I decided to look into a campfire toaster - thinking I could use it on the gas range. This turned out to be a great idea and solved the "toast" problem. It only takes a few minute and the toast comes out perfectly every time. You do have to watch it, however - because it can go from nicely brown to burnt really quickly! This is a great buy - and for anyone who doesn't have a toaster oven (which is my first choice because they are so versatile) - this does the trick!

After using this toaster in Baja every day for two weeks. I can tell you that this works great! Toasts Waffles, bread, bagels. The steel will color over time due to the heat, but that doesn’t effect it’s performance at all. Clean with steel brush or pad and it’s good as new. A must for those camping with kids. Would for sure buy again.

Support wires do not snap in place like they should and they constantly unsnap and the wires do not stay in their respective slots. A totally untested piece of junk. DO NOT BUY! You will be very disappointed after the first use. Not sure what the difference is, but my Grandfather had one that worked great, which is why I bought it in the first place. I was very dissapointed when I used it at the campsite. I could have done much better just using a frying pan.

If you ever go camping, you really do need one of these just like a coffee pot, sleeping bag, tent, etc, etc. I have been using these for probably 30 years now. They do need to be replaced every now and then but for the price, it's a no brainer. Makes great toast.

Toaster was delivered quickly and in good condition. Looks just what we wanted but not tried yet.

Best camping, stove toast rack i've bought in years. Simple, but well constructed of good materials, unlike many cheaper versions out there.Holds four slices of bread and folds flat for storage, with a stove seton high burn, the toast will brown quickly, so beware, keep an eye on it. It also, cools down quickly after use, which is a good benefit.Recommended.
