This product is REALLY cool! It's a gift for my father-in-law, a retired professor, and he'll love it! Buy this for any scientist, or scientist in training in your family!I looked at a LOT of versions, many cheaper, but this is the ONLY legitimate Acrylic Periodic Table of Elements which looks as good as the picture.My only recommendation? Grab a magnifying glass or a small magnifying lens to take a REALLY good look at each sample. They're small but it's fun to rotate the cube around and see each sample from all sides.Seriously, if you're buying this, buy a magnifying glass so you can really SEE the samples up close and personal.Don't fall for a scam and buy a cheap knockoff, buy this one and get the real deal! I can't wait to give this to my FIL!Side note, my recommendation to the seller is to include a small magnifying glass in every package if possible. Really cool samples! I purchased the 83 elements version for my nephew. Living in Europe the price (shipping and taxes ) made it a rather expensive present. When I received i realised that it is worth the price. It is not just a gadget. This symbolises the alphabet of the universe. Very inspiring for a young man.The same day i ordered the slightly larger version (85 elements) for me :-). Even more expensive as adding the taxes and shipping to Belgium it is more than $400. Still worth it.

My high schooler son wanted this so badly! He loves learning about the elements and Chemistry. So after receiving some cash for Christmas, he decided to purchase this periodic table display. It arrived in the mail yesterday in perfect condition -- my son's eyes lit up when he first saw it. He has probably spent an hour, so far, meticulously analyzing each element with a magnifying glass (you can still see each element with the naked eye, but he just wanted to get a magnified view). This product is of amazing quality! The elements inside this display are REAL. I am not a science person, but I have also enjoyed looking at all of the elements in this display! Only buy from this seller. They are the real deal. Made in the USA!!! Comes with a nice protective cloth case and element guide. Also comes with a certificate of authenticity. This display is definitely worth the cost. It is something my son will enjoy for years to come!

This was worth the price to get the high quality. Other sellers' versions are sloppy and poorly made. This company goes to the effort to make it perfect and worthy of a really nice gift.

I have a Ph.D. in materials science and have worked in academia for over 15 years. I have purchased two of these items; one for myself and one as a retirement gift for a colleague. Let me tell you. This is the real thing.I was lucky (or stupid) enough to also purchase a cheaper version from another store, and frankly, it feels pretty fake in comparison. Having both versions in hand, I feel compelled to share a comparison to help consumers see the differences and make an informed decision.Here are some obvious discrepancies I've noticed (see my attached pictures for details)1. Beryllium (Be) should be of a silver color, not yellow.2. The metal form of Ruthenium (Ru) should appear silver, while RuO2 should be black – not transparent.3. Similarly, the metal form of rhenium (Re) should be silver and ReO2 should be black. However, the cheaper version looks like a piece of gray plastic.4. Iridium (Ir) metal should be silver, and IrO2 should be black, not transparent.5. For Mercury (Hg), specifically α-HgS, the correct color is red. The cheaper version is orange and resembles a piece of plastic or a dried carrot.6. Halogens such as Chlorine (Cl), Bromine (Br), and Iodine (I) should have distinct colors and not be transparent.There are probably more than 30 elements that are incorrectly represented in the cheaper version.Finally, I've given this product 4 stars because one of the items arrived with numerous scratches on the back. While I know how to polish acrylic, I didn't expect to have to do this for a $150 product.

I bought this for my husband's Christmas gift. He was absolutely thrilled with it! This is the real thing. When you look around for periodic table sample blocks, there are so many knock-offs that just have pictures of the elements. This one has real samples encased in the acrylic block. The gasses are encased in microbubbles, and alkaline reactive elements are mixed with something to make it safe. The table comes with a card explaining what each sample is. The quality of this periodic table is excellent. The piece felt very solid, and it was perfectly clear acrylic so that the view of each sample was unobscured. Heritage are the original creators of this product, and it is the real deal!

I order this as a Christmas gift for my older son who is a math and science kid. The quality of the piece is excellent; the printing is very sharp and the acrylic very clear. It also comes with a little certificate of authenticity and a short description of how each sample was treated. But having a sample of all of the elements (with the exception of the radioactive ones) arrayed before you in the chart is just wicked cool. When the chart is turned sideways you can see the width of all the samples - so neat - I don’t know maybe you have to really like chemistry to get how awesome this is but it is wicked cool. Those cheap knock offs that just have a picture of the elements don’t even hold a candle to this table.
