Must have harness
My pit bull was so hard to walk but this harness helps so much with that. He has now Lear to walk without pulling me so much. It’s easy to put on and will last for long time. Great material very durable and doesn’t rub on him when we are walking! This is a must have for any dog!!

I love it even more after my son passed
i bought this 4 years ago when i set out on a month long road trip across the US with my dog. With ample adjustment the harness fit perfect and my handsome dog was always being complemented about having a Carhartt harness. The build is strong although a bit weird on how you attach the leash through the double metal rings but its a small nuisance. Im glad i purchased this harness that holds so many camping and road trips with my boy.I strongly recommend this harness to everyone.

Very Tough! Looks Great!
I purchased this for my Aussie years ago. This harness is tough! Also we get a ton of compliments on it. Very happy with it!

Be careful using this harness with the Carhartt Journeyman Lead w/ Trigger-Clasp
So I didn’t like this harness immediately. When I read that one reviewer’s dog could put the front piece in its mouth I thought “that’s gonna be my dog”. Sure enough, the first time he stepped into it - front piece in mouth. Immediately. Once I adjusted it, it was harder for him to reach it but he couldn’t resist trying. Now that he knows he can, he goes for it every time we step in. He’s getting over it though. I wish the top two rings on the back of the harness laid flat when not in use. He looks like he’s ready to be air-lifted to safety. I purchased this because it has two attaching options - front attaching like the easy walk and top attaching like other harnesses. The easy walk front-attaching style is the best way to walk a large breed because it encourages them not to pull by turning them around towards you. I purchased this along with the carhartt journey man lead with trigger clasp. Do NOT use this with the trigger clasp unless you are only hooking to one loop. When I attached to the front ring of this harness and the ring on his new carhartt collar using the trigger clasp lead, it immediately pulled apart and detached. Luckily he sat down and waited for me to leash him again. Then we tried the trigger clasp on the top two rings. Same issue. It may be a defective clasp. But with some re-engineering, I used the more traditional style carabiner clasp on the other end of the journey man lead to attach to the front ring on the harness and the ring on the collar. Then I pulled the lead thru the extra D-ring on the lead for a hand loop and used the trigger clasp on the top two loops for a second attaching point. By attaching him in two places, it created a pretty secure way of walking him and shortened the six foot lead to a more manageable length of about four feet. I hope this helps anyone who purchased these items together. Other than that, he looks great in his new harness and lots of people have stopped on the street to compliment him. When they walk up and ask what kind of dog he is I’m proud to say “he’s a pit bull”. They always reply and say “he looks so happy and friendly”. Walking bully breeds in safe, comfortable and attractive harnesses puts out such a better image than walking a pit bull in a prong collar with a chain. This harness doesn’t chafe under his armpits like the Easy Walk does, and the padding helps keep his sensitive skin from pulling or snagging on the joining rings. Having two points of control helps redirect his attention when he sees a squirrel or wants to sniff and pee on the neighbors’ landscaping. If you’re willing to play with this a bit to see how it can work for you, I think you’ll be pretty happy with it. Make sure you measure and don’t go by weight or by other sizes you’ve purchased in the past.

Good but confusing to fit correctly!
The media could not be loaded. As you can see I originally had it backwards. Too lazy to take updated pictures but I ended up figuring out how to correctly size it. It was super confusing and a massive hassle BUT when you do that part it's a good harness. Fits him well, good quality. Hoping it lasts long! Seems like it will. Plus it looks good on him! Bruno likes it so I approve lol

Looks great, but flimsy
I have a 12 lb terrier. We adopted him from our local animal shelter. The night we brought him home from the shelter, we put him in this harness and kenneled him in the back of the car for the 5 minute drive home. Apparently he was unhappy with this, and he silently shredded this harness during that 5 minute period. I assumed that a brand like Carhartt that's renown for it's quality and durability would make a more durable harness, but apparently not. The webbing is very flimsy and soft.It looked great though, and functioned well while it lasted.

Very heavy duty
Xl fits a 6 month, 135 pound saint bernard with room to Grow. Very adjustable and heavy duty. Doesn't stretch out or become loose. Looks brand new despite wear.

Bad Quality!
If there was less then 1 star I would have to honestly put it.I have wore and bought Carhartt my whole life. I love it and the quality my and durability we all know it is going to be.This collar was BEYOND disappointed. Very cheaply made. My dog chew threw both sides in almost a day and he’s not a big chewer at all. I have a harness I got him at Tractor Supply, it is there brand. And I paid 15.00 for it it has lasted for 7 month and this one 2 day if that tells you anything. The fit is very odd, the color is perfect! I will have to say you can’t mess that up.I am so disappointed. Carhartt has made me rethink all of my purchases with them after buying this. Maybe there just making things cheaper now!
