Makes a great little herb grinder (and coffee grinder)
My husband has one of these for his coffee, but I wanted something to grind up my herbs reliably. I haven't found a manual one that works well enough, so I decided to get one of these. It works well so far. It's easy to use, fairly easy to clean, compact. The noise isn't bad since the blades make quick work of whatever herbs/seeds/roots I put in there. The last thing I tried in there was cacao nibs (since I had run out of cacao powder!). It made a fine cacao powder. It's a simple design that works for small jobs. You can't select grind settings, you just have to grind it until you get it like you want. We joke with people when we talk about making our coffee. If you want a coarse grind, you count to 7. If you want a finer grind, you count to 7 slower... :)

Remains the absolute best coffee grinder
This is the absolute best grinder I’ve ever used. I didn’t want to write a long drawn-out review, but it’s so useful I felt compelled to write something.I always do a lot of research before buying anything. I’m definitely THAT guy. This made it on a short list of grinders after an absurd amount of time (literally hours) of researching and watching videos. It’s probably a sickness doing that thorough of research for a sub-$50 purchase, but I digress. After that research I pulled the trigger and bought this one, and couldn’t be happier I did. That was a little while ago, probably a year and a half, and I’ve bought multiple ones for my friends since. This grinder has an extremely consistent grind and achieves that grind in literally seconds (not hyperbole whatsoever). It has a reasonable capacity too. It’s not Marianna’s-Trench level of capacity like some, but it doesn’t feel like I’m grinding coffee for ants either like some others. It’s perfect for making a batch of brew.It has held up very well under pretty hard and consistent use, with both my toddler son and me battering it to get coffee unpacked after a fine-grind.It’s even easy to clean. I use a dry napkin, get the majority of the leftover, then just run the metal part under the sink on low. It fills up, I pour it out, wipe it down and botta boom botta bing, it’s like new.Super simple, effective and straightforward kitchen tool.Definitely get it. Use my research-sickness to your advantage and just get it.

Favorite coffee grinder
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Loved my krups grinder I've had since 1990... yes, 35 years. It still worked fine but someone tried to grind something super hard in the old one that it wasn't designed for. I can't even remember what it was. It chipped, cracked the edge of the lid all the way around the entire lid, way back 35 years ago, but it worked so well and never fell apart, so, I kept it and have ground coffee beans in it regularly since then. When I came across this one- IT LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE THE OLDER ONE that works perfectly. I thought... well, for this great price, I'm going to try it and see if it's as good. IT IS! Now I have a pristine grinder that works just as good as the original. VERY happy!

High quality, but the grind not as good as expected
For the price of this machine compared to other options, I would generally expect it to be flawless. And that is almost the case. However, I found that when grinding spices for a pizza sauce, the resulting powder retained a minimal few seed chunks. This was after running the machine on both high and low for an excessive amount of time to try and get everything. My guess is that the blades are a little too high off the bowl, and their vortex technology doesn’t work quite as advertised. That is just for spices. As of the time of writing, I have not tried it with coffee beans, which I expect would grind more consistently. That said, I’m still going to stick with this model for the long run. I bought it with points, so I’m not as worried about the excessive cost. The main reason I chose this one is that it had a removable canister that could be washed in the dishwasher, and I am very happy with that aspect.Prior to this model, I tried a cheaper version from another brand that was a disaster. Before even using it, I tried washing the canister in the dishwasher and water got stuck between the plastic and metal and wouldn’t drain. No issue with that here, as the canister is all metal and well designed. The other big feature contributing to the price is the quieter grind compared to other models. Though not a priority for me, I’ll attest to to it being much quieter that prior models I have used. The option for two speeds is also a nice touch, though I’m not really sure how important that is in the long run. The last thing I’ll mention is that is is pretty sleek looking. I got the version that is silver and black, and it does not look cheap at all. It is a quality looking appliance.Though I’m mildly disappointed in the grind quality for spices, it still does the job overall and has some sleek features. I’d say it’s a nice splurge buy, though if you don’t care about a removable container or the quieter running noise then getting their cheaper model would probably make sense. That model was highly rated by a cooking magazine I read.
