Product works as intended but is high priced for just 4 ounces. Larger volume cans would be ideal.
This product works pretty good if one does the prep right. Acetone bath is crucial for all parts before application. Very delicate when still hot from the cook process. Best to just turn oven off after 30 minutes, crack door and let cool for a couple hours. Over application with three to four coats can be troublesome. Key to best result is minimal coating with each coat application and 30 minute or more air drying time between applications before firing. Overly thick coats will not bring the desired result to the finished product, and will have to be redone as coating will just chip off easily if applied to thick. Less is best and practice make's desired result. Manufacture is correct with roughing up the surface of initial part. Polishing down alloy of any sort will not help with finished product, as obviously the substrate requires something other than super smooth to adhere to. Quite pricey and one can, once one figures it out will work for most applications. Order two and spend a hundred bucks. That way one can rest assured of trial and failure, and still have enough to finish the job for the desired result.

Easy do-it-yourself gun finish, looks good!
I've had several guns finished with cerakote; decided I would try this product on a customized AR-7 survival rifle. Aside from proper cleaning and prep that any finish would require, it's much easier and can be done without the equipment cerakote needs. It does spray cleanly, covers well, makes a consistent uniform finish. Durability so far seems fine. Overall, it's much easier than cerakote, is what it says it is!

Disappointed with the lack of quality for this product
I bought this for my husband to try out while waiting on our duracoat order. He is the most detail focused person when it comes to prepping any gun for paint, so with instructions followed to the T he had it in the oven baking - all seemed fine until I started to put the gun back together and it just all flaked off. Literally a super soft toothbrush was taking it off with ease. I figured it was pointless to throw it in acetone to strip it (with any ceramacoat it doesn't work normally) and within seconds of an acetone soaked paper towel being put on the slide it was bubbling right off. I'm actually disappointed in how bad this product is, not only because of the price but wheeler is normally a great brand that my husband uses regularly.

Nice color and easy to apply
I use this on two slides that were completely stripped to bear metal. With all painting, the key is preparation, preparation, and more preparation. The paint applies evenly and I was impressed that after the bake time it was set up hard. I was able to reinstall my rear sights using a pusher leaving no marks whatsoever a mere fifteen minutes or so after they cooled. If you are a good spray painter you will have no issues with this.

Good
I mean, 45 dollars for a small can of spray paint is kinda out there. But you get what you pay for. I will be rationing this as much as possible. Coates real good no complaints on the fde color either came out beautiful with one and a light dusting of another coat.

It's still pretty darn good just chipped off a blade I restored.
OK so for starters let's just say it's all about how well you prep your surface before painting. So it says that it can be layer down over factory coatings. The knife I refinished was a crkt pilar black. Kids destroyed the finish and looked terrible. So I removed the finish on the blade with steel wool. Wich revealed some blemishes in the steel. No biggie. Figured it would hide just like it did with the factory finish. I didn't use primer because I don't have any high temp primer. You have to bake this paint at 300⁰ for 30 minutes. Sprayed with duplicolor prep spray and cleaned. Sprayed 3 coats with 30 minutes dying time in-between. Baked like said above. Looked great till I went to sharpen. It flaked.... repeated on the pocket clip. Paint bubbled. But sanded of pretty well and took additional painting and baking. Once done correctly it's actually pretty darn hard and holds up pretty well. It bonds to the metal pretty good and doesn't scratch so easily.

Great coating!
This works great for a durable coating on metal and plastic items, particularly on firearms.

Easy to use when directions are followed
Follow the instructions to a T and you won’t be disappointed, there are some good videos on the tube to help if it’s your first time, in the pics only the rail was done with “olive drab” didn’t quite match the ranger point precision grip so I’ll be painting it next.
