Love It
I'm very pleased with this camera, it's exactly what I was looking for. I wanted something that took better pictures and video than my cell phone, I'm definitely not a professional photographer - but I am a mommagrapher - I take tons of pics of my kids and videos at their programs and sporting events. This camera was simple to use straight out of the box. It came with batteries, an instruction book, a camera strap, a lens cap and a USB cable. Taking pictures is simple and the zoom is excellent. The camera has a flash that you can control by turning it on, putting it on auto or turning the flash off completely. You can also record video on this camera and the resolution is very good. There is 32 GB of storage on the camera and there is also a slot for a SD card for additional storage. Getting pictures off of the camera is very easy, I just used the provided USB cable and connected the camera to my computer and I was able to see all of my pictures and video. If you don't have access to a computer, you can take the SD card to a store that print photos and they can read the card there. There is also a HDMI cable connection on the camera, so you can also connect the camera to your TV and show pictures and video on the big screen at family gatherings! The bottom of the camera had a receiver for a tripod if you ever need to take hands free video and pictures. To me, the only thing that would have made this camera better is if it had a rechargeable battery - other than that, I love it and I'll just be sure to keep extra batteries in my camera bag.

great for the price
For the price it's pretty good. It has all the features of a "point and click" and a great optical zoom. One really nice feature is that is missing on a lot of more expensive cameras is that you can actually "get what you see," i.e. the time between pushing the button and the picture's actually being captured is very short. This is great for taking pictures of people who can't seem to maintain a pose. Of course, in this mode, the camera, isn't able to make many decisions about lighting, red eye, face detection, etc. But with a good photo processing program, those things can be fixed, whereas missing that great shot can't. The only thing I don't like about it is the way the battery compartment is designed (requiring a lot of pressure on the latching mechanism to hold the batteries in place and using the same door to access the SD card), but this is an objection I have with most cameras of this general type.

This is a truly terrible camera and I would not suggest it for anyone
This is a truly terrible camera and I would not suggest it for anyone, even someone with a very low budget. I have had so many cameras that are SO MUCH BETTER in terms of quality. The Kodak Easyshare puts this to shame, as did a little $70 Olympus point and click I once had. The look of it implies it will provide a more professional image, but that's just smoke and mirrors marketing. This camera SUCKS. I should have known to not buy a camera from GE! These days, I actually prefer to use my cell over this, which says a lot about what a piece of junk it is.

Really amazing camera, has a ton of features and the optical lens is unreal, you can get some really nice close ups and still be standing far away. Need to get a memory card for real picture taking as the internal memory is only 32mbs. Nowhere in the manual did it mention what the internal memory, once I hooked it up to the computer is how I found out. If you accidentally leave the lens cap on the camera tells you to remove it so you don't have pictures of it. All around great camera for the money, comparable cameras with this optical lens are upwards of $200, so the price on this camera is excellent.

Great while it lasted
I enjoyed this camera - while it lasted. Bought it just before taking back to back cruises. It took great pictures, and the zoom was a huge step up from anything I'd used before. Unfortunately, after a just 7 days and about 3200 pictures, the camera started giving an error message about the lens being stuck, and turning itself off. Various solutions found online were unable to remedy the problem. I feel like I got my moneys worth as far as it goes, but it was very disappointing that it didn't last longer.

Jaw-dropping
This is a jaw-dropping piece of modern technology. I am more than happy with the extra features that I shall hardly use because I do photoshopping off site. As to the 26x zoom... I no longer bother with a pair of binocular to do my bird-watching.

We bought this camera for our 11 year old granddaughter. She really enjoys using it. It is very user friendly and helpful to the first time picture taker. The only thing we cannot get it to do is to delete pictures from the card. Other than that it is an exceptional camera.
