These really do work!
The prior reviews were mixed, but I purchased two anyway, because they are the right size, and priced well. We are heating a roughly 15' by 15' cabana. They do have a red glow to them, as noted in other reviews. However, they are doing a nice job in warming up an otherwise chilly area. Fast shipping.

Fits my need.
I bought this unit 8 years ago looking for something that would take the edge off chilly winter nights so I can grill year around. The reviews were a lot better at the time and that is why I went with this unit. When I unboxed it I thought there was not way it will be sufficient but I was wrong. It works great and has been very reliable! Granted I live in Southern CA but it warms up the whole area around the grill and makes it comfortable. When it is colder (40s) I use a stand up propane unit in combination with it and it gets really warm. Since it is infra red it heats objects not necessarily the air it works well even with a breeze. Would I have preferred a gas unit, for sure but it wasn't economical to run a gas line and my space is not that large. If I had a larger space and/or lived in a colder spot of the country I would have definitely spent the money on a gas unit. I also bought a remote control cord so I can turn it on and off from the ground.

Not powerful, but works well
We bought this heater 2 years ago and used it sporadically outdoors and more frequently now in the garage. We used it under a trellis to heat a table and chairs and it failed that task. It takes the edge off the chill, but you will not be remotely warm if you are further than 10 feet away or are not directly in front of it.We use it now indoors. I decided to remove it from outside and install it into a very, very cold garage. It works extremely well heating a small area as the garage interior is protected from the wind. There is no on/off switch so you need to add one or simply unplug it.

Haven't used it yet
I bought two of these for some birds of prey that are kept outside in winter. I didn't use them yet, since I was able to use infrared lamps most of the time, and when the temperatures really dipped low this winter, I brought the birds into the garage. Anxious to try them next winter

heaters
I was disappoint with the size and power of the heates, small and under powered. Over priced for what I got. Disappointed.

Great product!
I purchased this item on Amazon about a year ago, and it has been awesome. The amount of heat given off by this is pretty amazing. We can now use our deck in the spring and fall! Easy to mount and so far has been trouble free.

Not What I Expected at All ...
I built an outdoor Pergola that is approx. 12 x 18'. I thought that by purchasing two of these space heaters and mounting them across from on another under the Pergola, they would provide sufficient heating for the space. Upon arrival, I decided to mount just one of the Solaira Outdoor Heaters to test the output of the heat. Unfortunately, the heater seemed to barely work at all? In order to feel the heat, you had to be standing up almost directly under the heater to feel anything at all. I of course, decided not to mount the second one and have returned the unused Solaira Cosy Outdoor Commercial/ Residential Heater. I would suggest that you need a unit(s) to provide ample heating in a relative space such as the Pergola I built, then I would go with one of the larger sized units that are available.

Provides ample heat
We have 2 of these on our large patio and use them often. They put off a nice heat but we do have to use our propane heaters on nights that it gets really cold. These break the chill very nicely though.
