This is a great starter, as well as experienced artists, kit of very affordable brushes. This set of 10 brushes gives the artist a broad choice of brushes from most commonly used to very fine detail, special usage brushes. These are 100% nylon hairs and no animals were used in the making of these brushes. These are excellent for watercolor, gouache, or ink. I have found that they hold a lot of water and paint and retain an excellent point during the painting process. I'm very impressed with these brushes. I've been using them for watercolor and gouache. They hold an incredible amount of water, and so far they haven't lost any bristles or their shape. At this price point, I'm impressed.

I am glad the company improved on their ferrules etc. based on the reviews. All my brushes have tight ferrules and nothing is loose. I still haven’t given them a deep clean with my go to African black soap cake. Will update if I face a situation.I use the velvet case and cardboard for my makeup brushes, esp for travel. Love it.The brushes don’t hold a lot of water so great for beginners and gouache.I like them, even though I am a Princeton (synthetic) brush devotee, and would recommend.The pastel colour is good to differentiate it from my sea of art brushes in my jar ( a brush addict here)Con:1. the rigger is a disappointment. The ‘not holding enough water’ affects the rigger/liner brush the most because it defeats its purpose. You can barely get a 2 inch line before it gets dry brush.2. Wish they had included a shorter bristle dagger instead of two long bristle dagger. I am learning to use daggers and the long bristles are hard for me and I am getting frustrated.

So far the brushes do not shed and the points on the round brushes are tight. I love the pastel colors, the carrying tube and pouch. I’m pleased with this purchase. Great value.

I was a bit worried after reading that some people have had some issues but thankfully the brushes I received came in great condition.The tips are very sharp just like they should be. And the ferrules are not loose. So, far anyway.I've used them all several times now and I'm very happy with how they feel on my hand and how they paint.

I purchased these brushes as a gift. My granddaughter loves them. She is in college taking art classes and these brushes have become her favorites. She said her professor like them so much she bought a set. For the money you are get really nice quality brushes. The cardboard tube they come in is perfect for storing the brushes. It also had a black velvety type fabric bag to protect the brushes. Overall, she is loving these brushes and has thanked me several times for them. If you watercolor, give these a try. You can't beat the quality for the price.
