Proraso Professional Shaving Brush

This is the first shaving brush that I have ever owned. I was honestly looking for a badger hair brush since I had heard that they are much better than boar hair. I almost passed up on this brush for that reason. However, I read the great reviews, saw the great price, and recognized Proraso as a quality brand, so I decided to take a leap of faith and try it out. At $11, I figured, what's the worst that could happen? It sucks and and I go find a better brush.I have to to say, I have not been disappointed by this brush. It feels great and makes a nice lather fairly quickly. I haven't noticed any smell and I have lost very few hairs. I would definitely recommend this brush to anyone who is looking for their first brush and doesn't want to spend $30+ on a "better" brush. Maybe my opinion would be different if I had tried a lot of other brushes before this one, but for me, this is a great brush that I will continue to use for a long time.The only downside to this brush has been that the handle is larger than I expected and it doesn't fit easily into the stand that came packaged with the safety razor I purchased previously. not a deal breaker by any means.

Follow the instructions and you can't go wrong g. Great item !! UPDATE 8/2/25 While I love the brush I have had no luck in finding a stand for it. The handle on this brush is too fat and you have to squeeze the hairs together to make it fit. I have been searching for weeks and found no stand to handle this brand.

It will need a short breaking in period. My first impression was that I made a mistake. I love the Proraso shave products and thought I would try this brush. I changed my mind after using it for about a week. The brush is actually quite good. I have no issues at all. Nice price and it will last me for years. I have dropped it a couple of times and it hasn't been damaged. It's not natural hair. But, that's okay. It works up a lather nicely since it's stiff enough.

Got this as a stocking stuffer for my father in law! Great little product. The cardboard around the product is a little thin and got a big beat up in shipment but overall it was still great!

I've been using this brush for a few weeks now. My normal brush is a standard badger hair. I stayed away from this one because - how good could it possibly be for $20 bucks? What made me go for it was a review that talked about how the bristles are nice and stiff, which might be good for mixing and exfoliating.I did not have an issue with the smell. I didn't have to soak it or wash it or anything prior to use and it didn't start to smell after I started using it.This being a Proraso brush, I did not have a lot of luck using with my Proraso shave cream and shave soap. Not sure what I was doing wrong, but just didn't lather up well enough for me. However, I do think this brush would work quite well with a hard shave puck, which I have seen online.Like everything else in DE shaving, you have to try it out for yourself and see what works for you. Great value for the price. Treat it like any other shave brush - store it upside down in an open area to air-out.

About a year ago I started shaving with a quality double edge razor, but I resisted the idea of using shave soap and brush. Instead I kept on using the same types of shaving cream I had used before, but I wasn't getting the best result with them.Recently I decided maybe I should try Proraso shave soap and that seemed very promising, so I went ahead and bought this brush to use with it. Wow! I had tried a lot of shaving products over the 40ish years I have been shaving, and this is the best by far!At first it seemed a bit stiff, but it quickly softens and feels very nice. There were some lost bristles at first, but that seems to have stopped.Overall, I'm very pleased and would urge anyone looking for a better shave to give this a try!

... as this brush is supposedly "premium," yet the bristles were shedding off the handle like mad during use. That stopped after a few uses, and now all seems well. Even though there was extensive shedding early on, there are plenty of bristles remaining to allow for a good lather. I think maybe at the manufacturing stage they should do some light pulling or combing of the bristles to get rid of those loose ones.

Brush works very well, just add a bit of the foam shampoo with a bit of warm water and mix. Saves you money on shave cream. A little goes along way, thick coating for a smooth shave
