ShavexAlum Block After Shave, Deodorant Stone for Men with Plastic Case, Travel Size - 45g / 1.5 Oz

It's an alum block, I do like the little case that it comes in. At first it seemed like it was really rough on my skin, but after I got it a bit more wet it seemed to work a lot better. I like how it makes my face feel softer after using, and it does the trick to stop the bleeding from any nicks I get as I use my DE safety razor. I expect this to last quite a while since I don't cut myself that often, and I the small size makes it convenient for travel and storage.

I bought several of these Alum blocks for post-shave and was pretty disappointed with this one. Holding it up against my other blocks in the light, this one looks cloudy. Rubbing it on your skin it burns like hell. You will have to wash it off your skin, unlike some of the other blocks (which don't seem to leave such a crystallized residue after-effect). You could spend a few bucks more and get Osma (my favorite by far). These things last a loooong time, doesn't make sense to try to save a few bucks if your quality is so much worse.

This block is great to use to seal nicks and cuts and close the pores after shaving, soothing and nourishing the skin. It is the perfect size for a very small bathroom or for travel. I liked this particular brand so much that I put this one in my travel bag and then bought a full-size Shavex alum block to use at home.Regular styptic pencils are white and leave a chalky residue on your skin after use. On the other hand, this alum block is clear and leaves no visible residue.After shaving, I rinse thoroughly with cold water. I leave my skin slightly wet and rub the alum block all over my face, then pat it dry with a towel, or sometimes just leave it wet (I live in a dry state where my skin needs all the moisture it can get).Here's my personal process. After using the alum block as above, I apply a liquid aftershave lotion/cream, which I finish off a couple of minutes later with a daily facial moisturizer/sunscreen. The alum seems to form a great first layer for all of that. I highly recommend it.

Get a different block. This one came in with small chips all over it and jagged edges - which makes it scratch your face when using. I also got a Razorock and the razorock is so much better.

There was a hair in the product when I opened it up. Pretty gross. Not sure if I will even use it now.

Purchased as a gift for relatives that were unable to locate the item. Upon receipt, they were quite surprised to receive the item and were very pleased with the product!

Burns like crazy after a shave, not the greatest feeling. It may work great but I dread putting it onto my face. It comes with no instruction so you'll need to search on the web to see how to properly use the item.

Pretty good size for traveling. Works well. Comes in a plastic case. I use a de razor and a brush. I shower then shave. Rub my face with the alum block. Get dressed then wipe off my face and apply lotion. Kills any razor burn and doesn't leave any whit residue like a stiptic pencil.
