Great DIY tool
I researched several different brands, including reading many, many reviews. My biggest concern, after reading so many reviews of this product and other brands, was the possibility of the brush coming apart and getting stuck in the chimney. I implemented a few tips from reading reviews, which I feel accomplished a positive outcome. 1st tip: use black tape to secure each rod addition. 2nd tip: line contractor bags just below the thimble as well as the clean out door. 3rd tip: don't rush the process. It took about an hour to complete, which included set up and clean up. To be fair, the chimney we were cleaning out was on our first floor, with the clean out door half way up, on the side. It does go through a 2nd floor though. We had an estimate from a Chimney Sweep company of $200. In my opinion, this kit was such a great deal and worth the small investment. It came with a large plastic sheet that covered our hearth perfectly. Came with gloves, eye protection, an extra cleaning head, drill attachment, cleaning sponges, storage bag and a great little hand broom that was perfect for sweeping down our stones. Highly recommend!

Did not receive full length. 6 of 8 rods
Update: I was offered a refund to make it right that parts were missing.__On the 26ft kit, I received only 6 of the 8 rods making my handle length shorter than expected. Each rod is just over a little over 3 ft. The box, the instructions, the pictures online for this size kit all show 8 rods. I was lucky that I still had enough to work with for my chimney.I didn't have time to manage organizing a return and reorder with the chance of having the same thing happen again because I had a rotting squirrel I managed to retrieve with it. I managed to bend it around well into my smoke shelf. with it till I snagged the squirrel's tail, so I'll give them a second star because it worked and didn't fall apart. It would probably be easy to clean the chimney from the bottom with it, however I had to work from the top to reach my smoke shelf.

Easy, Effective, Saves Money – Just One Tiny Flaw!
I’ve used this kit for three seasons, and it works great. Quick to assemble, easy to use, and handled my 25-foot chimney with no issues. The flexible fiberglass rods let me clean from the basement by bending them through the flue. The brush head isn’t metal, but it still cleans well. Comes in a handy reusable bag for storage. My only complaint is the release button is tough to press. Thats all. Also, this is best used with two people—one sweeping, one using a shop vac to catch dust. Came with everything you need, including plastic.Much cheaper than hiring a pro, and cleaning is easier than you’d think. Great value!

A terrific tool that did a great job!
I have a large Lopi wood stove insert vented via a metal pipe that goes up about 22 feet through a stone chimney. I have been having the pipe professionally cleaned at the end of the winter season each year, and the draft is terrific for quite a while. But this year, I had a ton of great firewood, and burned a lot more wood than usual. With still about a month to go before the winter ended, smoke started coming into the room every time I opened the door to add wood. Rather than stop using the fireplace or possibly having to have the pipe cleaned twice, I decided to give this chimney sweep kit a try. And it worked great! The kit is easy to use, but it could make a terrific mess if you don’t have a good plastic barrier over the opening. Take a look at the accompanying pictures for how much creosote came down the pie, and how none of it came into the room. Here is what worked for me: 1) I put a layer of plastic inside of the door opening, and another one outside, and taped the top and side edges with duct-tape, and left the bottom edge untaped at this point. 2) Then I put a few strips of duct-tape in the middle of the opening about a third of the way from the bottom, made a vertical cut through the tape and both layers of plastic, and put about a 6 inch long piece of black plastic 1 inch pipe through that opening at an angle so that the rod would go up into the flue as I fed more rods into the pipe, and taped the black plastic pipe in place. 3) I then put the head assembly onto the first rod, ran the head and rod under the plastic with the head going into the flue, and the rod coming back out through the plastic pipe, and then sealed the bottom edge of the plastic with duct tape. 4) I used a good electric drill and made sure to keep pushing the head up and down as I ran the drill (as others suggested) adding more rods until I could feel that I had reached the top, then did the same on the way down as I removed the rods. The rods slid easily in and out of the black plastic pipe, and none of the massive amount of creosote came through the plastic barrier or the pipe. The whole job took about an hour. Detaching the rods on the way down was sometimes difficult but the pointed end of the tool that is provided worked (with some effort) to press the buttons down far enough to release the rod. When cleaning the rods, I suggest spraying each button with WD40 to make it easier next time. That may even make it worth doing before first use to make sure all of the buttons are good to go. All in all, a great tool and well worth the price!

Works great!
This worked perfectly! The video we watched used it from the bottom up but we used it from the top down. We kept the door closed to the wood stove that way it didn’t cause a mess inside the house.

Solid Kit! Would recommend to all
The 20’ kit was one rod more than enough for my 1 story home. This kit has a locking mechanism between rods and the drill bit. You can go forward and reverse without losing pieces. I’ve seen some kits that screw together, forcing you to only go one direction.I did this instead of burning the logs, where people said this made a strong chemical smell in the house. This kit just knocks it down, and I cleaned it up with a shop vac. The build up is crystalline, so messing with it too much will disperse the fine crystals into the air. If you have breathing issues, or just want to keep junk out of your respiratory system, use some type of mask.

Awesome kit
The kit had everything needed just add a drill. Was very easy to use.I only needed a 20 ft kit but bought the 26ft kit after reading about a snapped rod. Figured it would give me a few spares. This thing cleans.
