Good for the price; patience required
Not bad. Very good for a child or a learner with a lot of patience. Reasonably priced for what you get. The small size makes it nicely portable though it cannot go anywhere you’d like to be quiet. I use it with headphones on.I’ve never used a potting wheel before. This seems adequate. It is very loud. The speed controls are only on/off which can make detail work harder. The instruction booklet contains no useful instructions for use beyond how to turn it on.The wheel does not seem durable long-term but it’s quality matched the low price. With patience and a lot of trial and error to get they clay wet enough (but not too wet) I was able to make a few small pieces.

Great starter wheel
My 8 year old son loves his new pottery! It's perfect for a first time, just learning wheel. It is fairly noisy but what childs toys aren't? I'm used to noise in my house. It does require parent or adult supervision and help, so if messy isn't your thing as an adult, don't buy it. We set it up on a small folding table in our kitchen, I do NOT recommend using this on carpet! You will have clay pieces fall on your floor. I made "aprons" out of old big shirts, the plastic one it comes with is about as sturdy as 1 ply toilet paper. Overall, I'm very happy with wheel, we plan to purchase firing clay and take our creations to our local craft so to have then fired. It's my understanding that that type of clay is easier to work with. You will find that the one it comes with is very sticky and after the pieces dry they do flake apart fairly easily too. Like I said though, as a beginning wheel for a small child, it's perfect and we're very happy with it!

Okay For Beginners
The media could not be loaded. Good For TIme Users.I bought this for my 10 year old. I watched the YouTube video for directions and it’s pretty easy to set up. I would say it’s average and decent for a beginner, however, the two speed settings are the same so you can’t go slower. This was disappointing as you expect a slower setting. If you get the clay too wet it could turn into a disaster. I suggest watching some videos before trying it with your child. Obviously it takes practice.

Not functional as a pottery wheel
This pottery wheel is not usable as a pottery wheel. As soon as you apply even the most minimal amount of pressure to the clay to try and alter its shape, the wheel stops spinning and it makes a horrific sound that makes my children cry. There is nothing that locks the wheel to the motor part that turns it. The pieces fit together with a simple and loose fitting hexagon shaped insert. As soon as pressure is applied it becomes like an electric screwdriver stripping a screw. The motor keeps going but the hexagon shaped piece does not hold the wheel to keep the wheel spinning. I have no idea why other people gave it good reviews. We used it the first time yesterday and it’s going straight in the trash. I have experience with creating ceramic bowls etc. and have used real pottery wheels before. This is not usable for this purpose at all. A complete waste of money and a huge disappointment.
