When I initially saw the price of this book, I was in shock! This was the most I had ever paid for an ebook. As I learned to use it, I quickly found why it was so expensive. The book has an integrated drug guide, diagnostics tests handbook, patient teaching handouts and quizzes to help you test your knowledge. After learning how to navigate around course point, my grade improved. It’s very expensive, but worth every penny!

After reading the reviews I was a little nervous to order these but it is required for my class and buying it in Amazon is a much better deal than my campus bookstore, plus, Amazon has always been great at rectifying problems with my orders, so I just went ahead and ordered it. This is definitely a two volume-two book set. The first volume begins with unit 1, and has chapters 1-39. The second volume begins with unit 9 and has chapters 40-73. The book also comes with a code to access online resources (which I haven't utilized yet). Each volume is a good sized book, I couldn't imagine this edition being a single book so the fact that it's two books make it a more tolerable carry. The book is an easy read and I'm glad I ordered it.

THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE BOOK ONLYThis book is HORRIBLE. It just goes around in circles saying the same thing over and over again. The book is very hard to understand without an instructor explaining the concepts in class. It gives you the manifestations and the pathophysiology, but it doesn't explain anything. They just expect you to know why everything is the way it is. If you are like me, where english is your second language, good luck learning anything from the book. If this is the book your nursing program assign, try to get another book that would ACTUALLY explain the concept more straight forwardly and to the point. If not, good luck trying to pass med surg in nursing school with this book.FOR THE SUPPLEMENT ONLY!The supplements that came with this book are amazing but they are VERY expensive. I have been using prepu for two semesters and the questions on prepu have definitely improved compared to the 1st semester that I used it. The questions are more nclex style compared to now. Before, the questions were simply too easy for nursing school level. The student supplement is great if you want to apply your knowledge using case studies or review the materials that you did not get from the book.BOTTOM LINE:There are a lot of good case studies to help you practice for the real nursing world or clinical from the supplement. But the book itself, don't even bother reading it. It's horribly written.

The books came on time, nicely packed and almost new

Oh Big Bertha, how I loathed you in Med Surg. This is actually a really good textbook it's just absolutely massive and weighs about a two ton truck. Do yourself a favor and buy a book bag with wheels rather than carry this beast around. It lays out information quite well and goes pretty in depth into various subjects, which is both good and bad. Good, because you will need it in nursing school. Bad, because the reading is rather dry. If you are like me and reading textbooks is challenging to learn from then I suggest you get the code that goes along with this book and use Prep U to study. That actually helped me more than reading the book. I don't want to make anyone misunderstand, this book is good I just have a different way of studying is all. The reason for the four stars is because I don't know one nursing student in my class that has their book intact. The book is so huge and heavy that the binding just peels off after a while. They really needed to break this up into two separate books to make this easier to use and carry.

I used this book for my nursing class and I like how this book came with two sets of volume so do not have to take the whole heavy book with me whenever i go somewhere. The paper is pretty thin and the texts are quite small. Over all i like this because of the contents. They were very easy t understand and I like how they give examples of situations and what to do with it.

The print is small, but it doesn't bother me. The best thing was to buy it a 2 volume pack. When I have to bring it to school for my lecture only need one at a time. It can in the plastic covering in perfect condition. I didn't need thePoint code because the schools nursing program uses another package, but mine came with it. Volume 1: Chapters 1-39, Volume 2: Ch 40-73. I also purchased the Clinical Handbook for clinical and I love it!

Anytime I can save money Im happy. Unlike other reviews, I did receive both volumes 1 and 2. It must just depend on the seller. I strongly suggest you message them before purchasing to be sure. There are a few markings but they're used copies and for the price I'm not complaining.
