Very easy to use, reads off most surfaces. We got it for use with a pizza oven to check the temp of the pizza stone and it works great.

Have had this now for about a year and it works ok. It is not by any means accurate. It says to be in an area range so far away from what you're checking and then if you look at one distance the temp says 350 then move or go closer or farther by a 1/2" and it will say 330. It is really hard to get an exact temp and if you aim toward the burner, it comes back warmer. If you need an accurate temp this isn't what you want if you just want a generalized temp then I guess it works that way. I need it more for cooking and bbq and I still go back to the temp probe.
