NOT a drill sergeant - enjoyed the workouts!
This morning was my day 2 workout (before getting ready for work) and while I don't especially LOVE to exercise, I do it so I don't gain weight and stay healthy. This is my first Cindy Whitmarsh DVD and I really like it. She has some really good exercises that you don't see in other workouts, to target the problem areas. I like the fact that she doesn't act like a drill sergeant and is just down to earth motivating your through it by saying "you can do anything for 1 minute". I also like the fact that you're switching off with cardio for one minute and then a weight exercise for one minute. Trust me you DO feel that one minute! It's also nice because she'll start a cardio that is more low impact but then also show you a higher impact move for those that are ready to challenge themselves a bit and bump it up. I heard that this DVD is the same as another one being sold (same title just different person on cover) and yet this DVD is cheaper! So that was a bonus for me! After doing the upper body yesterday morning, I started feeling it towards the end of the day. I'm sure at the end of today I'll feel the lower body workout because it was equally as good. She recommends that you alternate between the two workouts each day for 10 days as well as eating right. She does provide a meal plan booklet within the DVD, but I already know how to eat healthy and I've been a Weight Watcher Lifetime member for about 11 years now. I'm definitely looking forward to getting more toned with these different moves!

My go-to workout for many years.
One of my favorite DVD's. Quick but efficient. 35 minutes and you're out the door. There is an upper body and a separate lower body workout, each totaling about 35 minutes. Both include some ab work. Interval training has helped me get back into shape. I have had this DVD for a number of years and always go back to it. Cindy Whitmarsh is a no nonsense fluff thrower. She gets down to business in a very positive way. Her demeanor is pleasant and while I don't love to work out, I always go to this one for a sweat session. While this DVD is a few years old, the setting is bright and her clothing is subtly colorful and timeless. I'll take anything to make a workout fun to watch while I am sweating away. I love it so much I bought a backup!

Highly recommend! You'll get in shape quickly. Not for those with bad knees or balance issues.
So, the catch is that you still have to get motivated to actually do the DVD! I won't lie and say it's not challenging. It's hard. But, when I started using this, I was in "not great" shape. I basically did as many of the reps as I could, and then would huff and puff while I rested, catching up when I had the energy. And, after a couple weeks (I did the DVD every other day, alternating the two workouts), I found that I could actually do most of the stuff. I was impressed with my bad self, lol. When you're starting, give yourself room to be a little behind what they do. Cut yourself a little slack, and before you know it, you'll go farther than you thought you could.More importantly, I actually started seeing an improvement in my shape. My waist started to curve in more. That little bit of fatty outer thigh started to flatten. My abs started to show. After going to the gym 3-4 times a week and NEVER seeing anything like these results, I have to say I was impressed. Cindy makes me feel encouraged, and the positive attitude is much nicer than someone barking negative things at me. She'll say things like, if you're starting to feel a little tired, I want you to think of your goals! Think of your shoulders in that little black dress! Or, other, similarly nice things. It's like a friend talking to you. There are quite a bit of exercises which may be challenging if you have bad knees or balance (lunges, squats), so you may want to find something else if that sounds like you. I've rented a lot of exercise DVDs from my library and honestly, so many of them suck. They're way too hard or boring, and I lose all interest in minutes. This is the only workout DVD I own, and I just love it.

I love the set up it alternates between cardio and strength ...
The pounds and inches will melt off of you if you keep up with this workout! I love the set up it alternates between cardio and strength training at a minute a piece and for someone who isn't in the best shape that is perfect. I could convince myself that I can get through anything for just a minute. There are two workout one for upper body and one for lower body and both are a half an hour. A half hour a day is totally doable even with a hectic lifestyle. Your body will be feeling the exercise the next day. The instructor recommends one set of light weights (3-5 lbs) and one set of heavy (8-10) pounds. I only had 3 and 5 lbs and I still felt it the next day.If you keep up with the program for all 10 days you will see the results and the DVD will begin to get a lot easier. I like to keep this into rotation with all of my others but this is at the top of the list. The instructor is upbeat and can be a little too happy for some people and she never stops talking. I didn't mind it, I found her to be motivating and great at cuing. The routines were great and had different intensities that you could choose from so you could get the most out of the workout. Highly reccomended for anyone who wants to lose weight and tone your body. This will get you there fast!

All Time Favorite
This is one of my all-time favorite workout DVDs. I love Cindy Whitmarsh, she's very positive and upbeat, and leads the exercises very well - no confusion about what to do or what's coming next. It packs a punch for 30-minute workouts. By the end of the lower body workout my legs are shaking and I'm drenched in sweat. I may do other workouts and stray from this one for months at a time, but I always come back to this.

Good no nonsense, get on with it exercise dvd
This is presented by Cindy Whitmarsh from the 10 minute solutions toning dvd. My husband says she sounds like one of the muppets, but I quite like that. She cues well, the dvd makes me sweat and I feel like I've done a good work out after completing one of the workouts - they are about 35 mins long which is all I can fit in with a young baby. No fancy footwork just basic minute of cardio, then a minute of weights. There are a couple of the exercises - the hopping being one of them where I really do appreciate her counting down as they seem much longer than a minute to me! I find her motivational and accesible.I think I would get very bored doing this every day, but I do it once a week and on other days do Jari Love, The Firm (get chiseled is my favourite but again just once a week) Someone Michel who is aggressive and irritating but good when you're short of time. Or I walk, or do a dance class. I think the key to enjoying and sustaining exercise is to vary what you do and don't do anything that you dread, or takes up too much time as you'll find yourself making excuses to yourself. The diet booklet is quite bizarre but the dvd definately worth the money. I use 3kg or 6kg weights and find that an achievable challenge.

Fabulous DVD which can be adapted for all levels
This is the same DVD as Results Fitness: 10 Days to a Better Body [DVD] [2008] [Region 1] [US Import] [NTSC ] but I thought I'd put a review on for this edition just in case somebody has only come across this version. This DVD delivers an amazing workout in just 35 minutes. It's led by Cindy Whitmarsh (who according to the back of the DVD has over 18 years experience in fitness and nutrition) and the DVD is comprised of two 35 minute workouts, one targeting the upper body and the other the lower body. Both workouts are well cued, easy to follow but challenging and you will most definitely see results. There are no complicated or fussy moves here, just basic toning moves (planks, tricep dips, bicep curls with variation etc) and good cardio moves which are basic (hops, jumping jacks, burpees) but they really do raise the heart rate. The format of both sections is the same - Cindy starts with a brief warm up then it's straight into the interval format workout of one minute of toning then one minute of cardio which continues until the brief (but sufficient) cooldown. There are a few ab exercises in both the upper and lower body workouts but personally I prefer to spend a bit longer on my abs so usually do some extra moves once the DVD is over. The toning and cardio will really work your body and they're moves that you'll see in other exercise DVDs and exercise classes because they work. It's recommended that the workouts are done on alternating days which means that your muscles aren't being overstressed. The variety, pace and energy of the instructor make this a fun DVD and the time flies by. The workouts are short but they pack so much in and my lower body was still feeling the effects of the workout two days afterwards.Cindy Whitmarsh is a really great instructor who motivated me throughout. She has a fabulously sculpted body which is clearly the result of hard work and a good diet. She frequently says (always when I'm really feeling the burn) that it's only a minute and that you can do anything for a minute which really pushes me to give my all. I will definitely be buying more DVDs by this instructor.Equipment for this DVD is minimal - a mat for the ab work and a light and heavy set of hand weights (3 to 10lbs is recommended). I'm not sure if the DVD is region 1 or region free (it doesn't say on the back of the DVD cover) but if you can make your DVD player region free, definitely invest in this DVD if you want results. It's such a shame that the UK doesn't produce workout DVDs of this quality from instructors not celebrities. Also included is a booklet with a calorie menu which is interesting but I prefer to create my own plans. 2 intense, 30 min workouts - also includes healthy eating plan
This includes 2 quite intense 30 min work-outs, one for upper body, other for lower. It alternates 1 minute of manic cardio with 1 minute of weights/resistence throughout each session, which is said to be most effective for quick toning. I thought I was reasonably fit because for the past year I've been doing Nell McAndrew workouts for 1 1/4 hours twice a week, but I had to sit down for a bit during this, even though it was shorter at only 30 mins :) I really felt like I had done some work. I'm sure you would see v quick results if you did alternate the 2 workouts on this dvd daily - there's even a healthy eating planner provided with it. I haven't been as dedicated as that and I've been mixing it up with Nell McAndrew's cardio and core & stretch dvd because I love the cool down/stretch section on Nell's - it really helps my back and I already lost over a stone with that one. This particular Dvd would be great if you want to lose weight very fast and have limited time though.

Excellent mix of cardio and toning!!
I really like this series of exercise dvd's. They're quite hard, but they really do the job. Basically you do 1 minute of cardio, then 1 minute of toning and it jumps from one to the other.I think this works every part of your body. It lasts about an hour.I highly recommend this.
