Short version: The waterproof layer in this couch cover doesn't survive when washed according to instructions. Don't waste your money.Long version: We purchased the cover because we have cat whom we love dearly, but has... issues. His favorite place to have those issues is on our couch. We figured a couch cover was a good investment; perhaps we should have not picked the lowest priced cover. At first we were pleased by the amount of padding and the grippy rubber backing. We put it straight on the couch as we'd just had it cleaned and were having guests over. A few days later, cat had a mistake, and the cover worked great. Threw the cover in the wash as per the directions... back on the couch... and it was no longer waterproof.I'll give the company credit: when I contacted them about the issue, they quickly offered a refund or replacement. (Hence why they get 2 stars instead of 1) We picked replacement... we should have just taken the refund. They sent us a second one, and it was the same thing all over again. I was tempted to air dry the cover, but the instructions said Tumble Low. I figured it ought to hold up to the instructions they'd printed on their label. Nope. I took pictures this time and sent it to the company. They said they'd check with their technician... and then replied that the washing must be the problem and that they will improve the quality in the future. And that was it. So, don't waste your money, this is a low quality item that doesn't work. I don't have money to lose on things like this, and I feel like I should have known better.

This is advertised as both water resistant and waterproof. IT IS NOT AT ALL WATERPROOF. My roommates cat urinated on our couch and the urine got through this couch cover with another, cotton/elastic couch cover on top of it (i.e. 2 layers). Overall, it is not a bad product, and some protection is better than none. Just don't be fooled into thinking this will completely protect your furniture from pet stains/inadvertent spills.

This product saved my couch! I am potty training a 7 year old with special needs that is non-verbal. Not only will my son tolerate its texture and sit on it, but it stays in place very easily and doesn't fall down. It covered my couch very well and fit VERY well. Most importantly it is 100% waterproof. My son can accidentally empty his entire bladder while sitting on the couch and not one NOT ONE drop gets on my couch. Then I just ball the whole thing up- throw it in the washer and dryer and we are good to go. I have no washed this product about 30-40 times and it still seems brand new... and is just as waterproof. I am extremely impressed with its quality- a must have for potty training! We bought one for the recliner as well!

Purchased to protect new leather loveseat. The cover is difficult to keep in place, even with the non-skid backing it "walks". After using for about 2 weeks, went to reposition cover today & noticed several areas on loveseat surface where finish had been removed, and was now on the non-skid backing. We live in an area that doesn't get much above 80°, have had zero spills of any liquid (or anything else) on the cover. Non-skid backing is tacky to the touch, which may be part of the problem. Nonetheless, we are now faced with having to find someone who can repair the leather finish on our new couch, as there is no way to reach the manufacturer regarding this issue. We are beyond disappointed.

Bought this for my leather sofa. Our sofa is an overstuffed style, so the cover doesn’t fit like the photos, but is still extremely effective in protecting it.The grippy back works really well. A little too well. It gets frustrating when you try to tuck it back in after the 90 pound dog jumps up there, and wrinkles it all up.The waterproof part, well, they still get damp, when the wet dog jumps on the sofa, BUT, the dampness does not transfer through to the leather sofa underneath. So that’s a big plus.All in all, at the end of the day, they look good, they’re effective, and they keep my leather sofa free of dog hair, scratches and damage.Would definitely recommend.

They don't stay in place even when adults sit on them normally, needless to say, the designated dog couch is a disaster still because these DO NOT STAY IN PLACE AT ALL. Finding a better product. Don't waste your money unless you have the time to sit around watching the couch all day to make sure this stays in place.

Got this to protect new couch from cat and dog urine and it has not disappointed. Have found messes after coming home from work. Sat long enough to dry, but no smell on the couch underneath. Has held up through at least 3 washes. Cold gentle cycle and dry on low.Not soft, but that's not what it's for. Have to retuck it after every use, but out does what it's supposed to, which is protect the couch. I do wish there was a way to secure it better.

The fasteners that keep it from sliding down broke about two days into use, and all the little grippy pads that come on the backside of the cover don't really keep it in place, so it constantly slides down the couch. In addition, the little grippy bubbles that are supposed to help keep it in place constantly fall off and are making a mess of the couch. It doesn't seem to be particularly water resistant, but it is soft, so there's that. I think if I tried to wash this thing all the non-slip pads would be gone when it came out of the washer/dryer. Not a very impressive cover.
