Easily find pet stains on any carpet. Have you ever picked up that familiar pet stain smell but couldn't locate the stain itself? Do you have dark carpets or rugs that seem to be in cahoots with your pets to hide stains from you? We've got a solution! Grab this practical and useful black light UV Light pet stain finder from Arf Pets, and find every last stain, every day of the year. It works by emitting long wave - or UV-A - ultraviolet light from its large array of 100 energy-efficient LED bulbs. The light causes the stains to appear with a certain sheen for instant detectability. Take it wherever you take your pets. With its premium aluminum construction, this Arf Pets black light UV pet stain finder is ready for use at home, on the go, in the car, at the hotel, and anywhere else you enjoy taking your pets. The sleek aluminum provides exceptional durability and structural integrity, so it keeps going even after your pets play 'fetch' with it. Despite the aluminum's strength, it also serves to keep the light's weight, well, lightweight. The light is also very nice to hold; you'll discover how nicely its weight is balanced with 6 AA batteries (not included) inside. Even detect money and scorpions. As a Arf Pets item, this blacklight UV pet stain finder is not limited to finding pet stains - it proudly serves a number of additional purposes. These include detecting human fluids, which is perfect for finicky travelers to use in their hotel room; detecting the telltales of counterfeit money; as well helping you detect scorpions before they find you. All these functions operate with the same principle, as the ultraviolet light makes pet stains, human fluids, counterfeit money, and scorpions glow so you could see them for what they are.

Eeeewwwwww
I am not sure how to review this product except to say that this product is the proof that ignorance truly is bliss. We have multiple cats (because we are saps and cannot turn away a sweet, needy face) who were all fixed and/or spayed as soon as they met the weight/age requirements; however, multiple cats have issues regardless of your best efforts and two of the males are strutting their stuff all over the walls...and anything at cat-behind level. This product works great at identifying the urine, even on textured surfaces. It works in light and dark and covers relatively large areas. I was so happy with this product that I ordered another one...and we use this one every night as part of our evening ritual (sigh).

Does NOT work well for cat urine! Wavelength matters!
First tip: UV wavelength MATTERS for cat urine! For being a "cat urine" UV light, this company sure didn't do their research before telling customers this works. The wavelength is ALL WRONG. (Keep Reading)My cat peed on my new shag rug, and before I wanted to take a cleaner to it, I wanted to know exactly where to clean, so I bought this. I received it, waiting until night, turned off all the lights (yes the urine was totally dry). NOTHING SHOWS. I know there is pee on the carpet, because she smell is strong. This doesn't even glow a little bit. I'm so disappointed. It makes lint and white socks glow, but that's about it. It (barely) human urine and dog urine, but that doesn't help me much.I also tested it on the litter box, it doesn't even glow at all! What's even worse is that my other 395nm UV light glows just a little bit when I tested the litter box at the same time, which makes me question whether this one is even a range of 390-395. Honestly, I feel like this one is 400+ with how blue it glows, it should be glowing more purple if it is what it says. After I've researched, cat urine should use a wavelength of 365-385!!! How can they fail to advise customers of this when they are marketing it for cat pee? That's very shady in my opinion. The wavelength of this light is just too high to visibly show cat pee! Now I have to order a new one and wait even longer before I can properly clean my rug. I'm returning this, and I'm VERY disappointed.

A Great Scorpion Hunting Tool - While it lasts...
I purchased this light primarily to search for scorpions. It does an excellent job in illuminating them. The light is very bright and the beam illuminates a circular area of about 2 feet in diameter at a distance of 7 feet. However, the area outside of this main illuminated area is also somewhat illuminated. Even this diffuse illumination is enough to cause scorpions to glow brightly. I feel very confident that if a scorpion can be seen, it will be seen. In the 30 days I have had the light I have found 102 scorpions... Who knew?! Additionally, I would highly recommend the Calabria 1003 Safety Glasses UV Protection Yellowat Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=Calabria+1003+Large+Fit-Over+Safety+Glasses+UV+Protection+in+YellowThe Black Light UV Flashlight puts out a lot of UV light and a lot of it is reflected back to the observer. With these yellow glasses this light (and blue light) is filtered out so that the more subtle colors can be seen. The glasses are a must just to protect your eyes from reflected UV light. Also, this UV Flashlight (long wave UV light) illuminates many minerals out in the desert. Notably some desert roses (chalcedony), some calcite as well as fluorite. (However, short wave UV illuminates many other minerals.) For household use this UV Flashlight is great for exposing urine stains in carpeting (thank you pets) or along toilets and soap splashes along sinks and the walls near towel racks. The only negative about the flashlight is that it does use up the battery (6 AA's) energy quickly. I would prefer rechargeable batteries and a charging station. With that set up, I could just put the flashlight in its charging station and it is ready to go when I am. But still good enough for 5 stars.UPDATE: 27May2016This light is still working great and I have found many more scorpions. One downside I have with the flashlight is that the screw off base has threads that are beginning to wear. As I mentioned earlier in my review, the light does eat up batteries. As a result I use rechargeables but need to replace them frequently. The base has a strong spring that needs a force of a few pounds to engage the treads. The flashlight tube is fairly thin walled and the treads are getting more difficult to use. With careful alignment and gentle pressure I hope to get years of service from the light. I would now rate the light at 4.5 stars.UPDATE: 23AUG2016The light is having some problems. 25 of the LEDs have stopped working, most of them are in the inner circle of lights. 6 others are flickering. The light is still fairly bright. I will update again if a significant number of LEDs die off. I do use the light quite a bit. An evening of scorpion hunting usually lasts at least a half an hour. The previous problem of the base being attached has been solved with a little oil. My star rating of the light is now a 3.UPDATE: 2SEP2016I have attached a picture of the LEDs. It shows a few of the LED out completely and a greater number that have dimmed, some flickering, and I assume will die shortly. What is the useful life of a UV LED anyway?

Lots of good reviews but I don't know why?
It puts out a lot of light but the color of the light must be off as it does not really create contrast with Pet Urine or Human Body Fluids. In order for their to be enough material for the flashlight to be of any use, the surface has to be essentially wet so you don't need the light to find it. I was REALLY disappointed.

The quality is great
When I purchased this I thought I better get the expensive one it must be better. The quality is great the lights show every spot we have. The people who owned the house before us must of had dogs stay upstairs. We have had our carpets done several times and never noticed the stains until I purchased this UV light. I have tried everything to get the stains out with no luck. My thought now is maybe the light wasn't such a good idea after scrubbing and cleaning for a few days but it's really good to know what is in your carpet. As for the bathrooms I actually thought I was a better shot than I am. I had to really clean the toilets. The light served it's purpose and made my house a lot cleaner. I would recommend this to anyone who is up for a good cleaning.

Works perfectly and powerful black light
Good size, fits comfortably in your hand, bright for a blacklight handheld unit. Use for scorpion hunting (inspection) in Arizona shows up the bugs clear as day. Takes 6 AA batteries, so has plenty of power for all 100 LEDs. Only used if for a night or two, so if I have any issues I'll update this review. If no updates.....recommend purchasing if you need this type of light wave.Updated 6/11/16:Excellent light for spotting and hunting scorpions. Easily illuminates scorpions up to 20+ feet away. This black light added to do it yourself pesticides (Cy-Kick CS Controlled Release Cyfluthrin 16oz Insecticide / Delta Gard Granules 20 lb bag) has cleared property inside and outside of fence line of all scorpion issues. I am very pleased with purchase and performance of unit.
