Brentwood 4-Inch Gel Memory Foam Orthopedic Dog Bed, 100-Percent Waterproof

I have purchased 3 of these beds in the last year. Each of my German Shepherds has one in their crate. In my opinion, the large (which I believe is around 46") fits very well in a 48" long wire crate. The first was purchased close to 11 months ago when my dog had ACL surgery. I needed something that would offer great support and comfort while maintaining structural integrity (no one wants a dog bed that goes flat). I also wanted it to be low maintenance and not cost $200-$300. I am confident in stating that it is absolutely worth the $100. The reason I have 3 is because all the dogs love them. That being said, there are negatives to almost everything and I want this review to be helpful to others. Overall I am quite happy with our purchase, a medium memory foam dog bed, by Brentwood. My dog has been happy with it (and really, we've bought tons of bed he refuses to use and will lay next to on the floor til I give up and donate- but this, he immediately decided to actually lay on!).When it arrived it had a tear in the actual cover, maybe from packaging on Amazon's side, or from shipping, it was hard to tell. The zipper was also broken, and there was some faulty sewing in the removable cover. Brentwood was a bit difficult to contact but did easily agree to replace the cover (since sending it back to Amazon would be difficult since it was sent in a small package, but when opened it no longer fit).Brentwood's shipping was delayed, and delayed so if you do have to deal with this I do suggest staying on top of it, as it took us over a month to get it. In the mean time we just used a sheet.With the new case, it's been great. We can easily remove it if it gets dirty and launder it. Washes up nicely and goes back on.It hasn't lost it's density with regular use, which with gel memory foam you'd not expect, but with some shoddy brands you start to see after a few months.Overall I think this is a decent product for a dog needing a bit more padding, but for the price the quality control should be a bit more on top of things.

This is a very nicely made, durable bed. We've had it for over 6 months, and so far the foam is holding up very well (no soft spots, matted down areas, etc). Our dog is 75 pounds, and the foam is as firm and supportive as the day we got it.Some people have commented on the cover, and that it is thin and not well made. I disagree, although the fabric is not heavy weight, it seems durable. Furthermore, it doesn't seem to collect dog hair (and our collie/huskie mix has PLENTY of hair!). I did take a cotton afghan/throw and folded it in half so it fits perfectly over the top of the pad. This gives the cover a little added protection, but again, I not sure it needs it.This 46 X 29 inch pad fits our 75 pound collie/huskie mix very well...gives her plenty room to curl up on, but if she decides to stretch out, yeah, she's off the edge. :-)UPDATE: it is now 14 months after I wrote the above review. This bed is still as firm as day one. I couldn't more more happy with this dog bed. Money well spent!

I purchased this bed in October 2013, so I have now had it two years. It has been used by my 80# plus yellow lab for many hours every single day for nearly two years and it looks just as good as the day I bought it. It is the only dog bed (of about 20+ over the years) that I can say that about. Of course, this one is indoors and used by an older dog that doesn't dig, chew or do anything else destructive, but I am still very impressed with the quality. There is absolutely no sagging or wear on the cover of any kind. As a matter of fact, I was recently in the market for a new mattress for my personal bed and seeing how well this one held up, it swayed me to go with a gel foam one.The only downside I would have to say is that the material does seem to really hold her hair, so she has a yellow hairy bed after a few days. This is her bedroom bed that I put down on top of an old flat sheet to contain her hair and whatever else she might otherwise get on my carpet as she sprawls over and off of it. To clean it, I just run the vacuum over it once or twice a week and we are good to go. Removing and replacing the cover to wash is easy enough, also.

Wanted a bed that would provide stability and comfort for my 60 lb pups recovery. Its soft enough to where it wont put too much pressure on her healing leg, yet stable enough so she doesnt sink in too much either. Just by pressing down on it with your hands, you can feel the comforting cool gel top and foam that really forms to your hands. High quality, unzips for cleaning, and also fits perfect in her large size cage! She LOVES the bed, and knocks out on it constantly during her tough recovery. Very happy with this bed!!! Your dog will loooove! A happy pup makes a happy owner :)
