It it sharp. It is made of metal. It is in the shape of a butchers knife. But to say that it is a proper butchers knife is a joke, the knife is very thin like 47/1000 of an inch yes i measured it. I am pretty sure a butchers knife should have some heft to help chop not be a feather weight, so to use the words "heavy duty" I find a joke.

The knife came a bit dull so a quick sharpening made it good to use
It's lighter than a typical butcher knife. The weight reduction comes from the blade (not as thick) and the handle (plastic). If you really pick at it, the plastic handle pieces can move. But it's not an issue because the knife is full tang, meaning that the blade runs all the way through the handle. This gives the knife extra strength so that it won't go flying off the handle.The knife came a bit dull so a quick sharpening made it good to use. If you don't have a knife sharpener handy, the bottom of a ceramic mug works well enough.I received this product at a discount in exchange for a fair review.

not very well built.
The knife is pretty sharp and it cuts well. It is not heavy at all. In fact, to me, it is a bit on the light side. I had couple butcher knives before and they were heavy duty. I enjoyed the weight while cutting the meat. I am giving it 4 star because it doesn't build well. The holder part doesn't line well , not smooth like others that I had. It still cuts well, just not the best of what I have tried.I got this at discount in exchange for my honest review. This knife is ok.

nice and small
lightweight and very small. the blade needs to be sharpened if you intend on using it a lot. it has a small whole in the blade which makes it easy to hang up. i use a magnetic bar for all my knives. this product was received in exchange for a review

Effective product!
The product is very useful and I feel it is very reasonably priced. The sharpness, the quality of the steel and the effectiveness of the product is really great.
