Dean Vendetta XMT Electric Guitar with Tremolo - Metallic Black

For years I wanted to get out of using my crap Peavey, this guitar is great, I have yet to change the strings (then again I don't play nearly as much as I used to). I would say a change of strings may be a good idea though. It came packed really well, no damage or anything from shipping. Of course it will need a good tuning though when you get it. Other than that I'm fully satisfied with the purchase and I thought it was a great deal for something in it's price range, it was either this or a cheap looking Epiphone that was in the same price range. Yet I try not judge a book by it's cover I watched a lot of video reviews of both on youtube and the vendetta seemed like it was all around better than the Epiphone for may 50 bucks more if that?

This guitar is really bad I have had it for 3 months and the pickups are rusting and so is the brig like what the heck. I am not saying Dean is a bad company. It's just this guitar

Recently purchased the Dean Vendetta XMT and Dean Edge 10a together from Musicians Friend via Amazon.com. The Vendetta arrived with mis-matched strings and chipped headstock. I decided i could live with the chipped headstock as i really didn't want to send it back and wait another two weeks. I did contact the seller Musicians Friend and they said they would refund me $15 which i still have not received due to the condition the guitar was in when i received it ($15 is not even 10% of the purchase price). Bottom line is I would not recommend buying anything from Musicians Friend, and as far as the guitar it self goes, it feels very cheap compared to other guitars in its price range that i have had experience with, the only reason i bought this guitar was for a back - up in case anything happened to my primary guitar. this guitar might also be good for a beginner as well.

There's a lot of junk guitars in the "low end" or "student" market, that's for sure. Aside from the sea of Chinese copies of Stratocasters, there are a few good guitars out there- but good luck finding them. The Dean Vendetta is a refreshing change from all the fake Stratocasters out there. It's more versatile than a Strat as far as what sounds you can get from it and the fact that it doesn't look like every other guitar is a bonus. Comparing to the "other" guitar of note in this price range- the Squier Stratocaster- I would have to give the nod to the Vendetta. It's lighter, it's more versatile from country to metal- and it REALLY kills on metal- it's pretty much better in every way than the Squier.Start comparing it to guitars over $300 and it will show its limitations... but then again there are high end Vendettas too. I have one of those too, hanging next to my Gibson LP and US Strat. The Vendetta holds its own.I was originally turned on to these by Bret Michael's guitar player and producer- who plays a custom Vendetta.

It is light weight and very black. The metal that separates the frets stick slightly over the edge of the neck so if you run your finger along it you feel the metal but it is not sharp enough to cut you. It does come with a whammy bar but you have to install it your self. I am just learning to play and this guitar is so much better then my old silvertone. It does everything I could ask of it then more!!

This guitar is definitely worth the price. It fits into the same category of my J. Reynolds guitar. Same material and everything. The pickups are not professional quality by any means, but for the price its totally worth it. It works extremely well for more distorted guitar and metal sounds I wanted.

bought this guitar and the wrong one came in

A lot better than I expected. The action on it is smooth and so I fell in love with the way it plays and couldn't be happier with it considering what I paid for it. Great deal.
