Beautiful bedding set. And the price was even better :)

It's impossible to write anything about baby bedding without using the word "cute" so I'll get it out of the way right off the bat: this is a cute set!But beyond cuteness, it's also very well made. While the price is rather high for the set, you get a complete set of bedding including a fitted sheet, crib skirt, a quilt, a plush stuff toy, and a book. It all comes packaged in a plastic case which is also very well made with a decent zipper, a decorative pull tab, colored piping on the edges and a fabric handle. It makes for a nice presentation should you want to give this as a baby shower gift.The sheet, skirt and quilt are all 100% cotton. I don't know the thread count, but it feels very substantial. The quilt in particular is very nicely made, with tight, even stitching throughout, and very soft to the touch. I laundered everything when I first received it (there was no discernible smell - I just routinely wash new items before use) and it came out of the wash looking in great shape. No color running or seam puckering. Care is simple: machine wash cold; no bleach; tumble dry on low. If you remove it promptly from the dryer while it is not 100% dry and hang it, the need for ironing is minimal, if at all.The only non-cotton item is the plush toy, with is 100% poly. That can't be washed, but has to be spot cleaned only.My niece is putting this to use in her nursery, and we had no problems with the sheet fitting. The sheet is 28 by 52 by 8, which should be fine for most cribs. The quilt is 36 by 45 inches.The only negative is the price, which is somewhat steep. But the quality of the material is much better than other sets I've seen, and I have confidence that this will stand up to repeated washing far better. Given that, I think it deserves a 5-star rating. I'll update the review should my findings regarding durability prove otherwise.[Sample provided for review]

If you are into quilting, you could actually machine-quilt it for added effect.The quilt is screen printed and I totally loved the designed. Everything is very coordinated, giving the set a rather posh look. For example, the back of the quilt is the same material as the fitted sheet and the back of Owl. Owl is soft and cushy, a perfect critter to hold and cuddle.When I took the quilt out of the bag, it was quite wrinkled. I simply used a hand-held steamer and the wrinkles melted away. A steam iron would probably have a similar effect. Everything is 100% cotton save the 100% fiber fill. My daughter was disappointed because she thought the wall decor came with the set
